Our Homemade Frozen Yogurt Recipe is one that was shared to me from my sister one night on a girls night movie fest party. Ever since that night years ago, I’ve been craving to make it again! I finally got the supplies and did it! Can you believe it took me years to get my rear end in gear? But thanks to some savvy shopping I can now make it any time I want! Are you excited for Summer as much as I am? I seriously love the warmer weather! And with it all the amazing treats that come with it! It seems like the best time to enjoy a nice frozen treat is when the sun is shining and you need a great way to cool off!
Now I could make any kind of delicious frozen treat. Like our Rocky Road Homemade Ice Cream. But like I said earlier, I have been hankering (Hello Can you tell I’m a country girl much?) for a nice frozen yogurt! But seriously have you visited a frozen yogurt shop? That stuff can get super expensive! So I’m going to show you how simple it is to make your own Homemade frozen yogurt! And really all you NEED are 2 ingredients. But you can add some extra flavors for fun if you want. I’ll talk about that too!
2 Ingredient Frozen Yogurt Recipe
Like I said all you need are 2 ingredients. Your favorite Greek Yogurt and a sweetener. If you want to flavor it later on then I suggest a vanilla greek yogurt. If you want a flavor that you can find in Greek yogurt, by all means pick that one. I mean can you image how awesome Strawberry Frozen Yogurt would taste using Strawberry Greek Yogurt? Yum!
But for me, I absolutely love love LOVE Greek Gods Honey Vanilla. It has the perfect vanilla flavor with just a touch of honey for sweetening. I love to use it as my base for many flavors. Or really I like a plain Honey Vanilla frozen yogurt too!

As I mentioned earlier, this amazing discovery of homemade frozen yogurt recipe is thanks to a night that I stayed with my Sister. It was a number of years ago, and my husband was off doing an internship. So I figured, hey let’s take a weekend and take the kids to play with their cousins. So we stayed with my sister at her house. Her husband was working late. So after we got the kids to bed we made this delicious Honey Vanilla Frozen Yogurt recipe. Except my sister used Sugar and I used Raw Local Honey to sweeten it because we are trying to decrease sugar in our home.
It’s still just as good now as it was there. I definitely should not have waited so long to make it! Especially considering how easy it was!
Simply pick your yogurt and your sweetener. This works great with Honey, Agave, or sugar. We used 1/3 cup sweetener but if you like it a little more tart only use 1/4 cup. If you like it much sweeter than 1/2 cup might be more your style. That’s the great thing about this frozen yogurt recipe, you can make it as sweet as you prefer!
Mix the yogurt and sweetener together in a bowl until smooth and well blended.
Pour the yogurt blend into your ice cream maker. I use my Ice Cream attachment for the Kitchenaid (Oh how I love this thing). If you don’t have a Kitchenaid or an ice cream attachment, then simply pour it into your ice cream maker.
Process like you would ice cream.
About 5-10 minutes before it is set up in thick soft serve consistency you’ll want to add any flavorings or mix ins of your choice. So if you want to do crushed candy bars like I did with our Doctor Who Blueberry Candy Bar Shakes. Or if you want to add in fruit chunks or nuts, or Mini Chocolate chips like I did, now is the time.
When it is finished (the consistency of soft serve ice cream) you can dish it up and serve it right then! But again, it will be like soft serve. If you want it thicker and to hold it’s shape more, then place in an air tight container and place in the freezer for about 4-6 hours. Then you can scoop it out and enjoy.
And to make it extra sweet you can toss in any flavor toppings you want like crushed candy bars, gummy worms/bears, fruit bits, caramel or chocolate syrups, etc just like at those fancy frozen yogurt shops! And it’s a lot more affordable!
Now if you want to flavor your Frozen yogurt different flavors, there are a few different ways you can do that. Add in pureed fruit for the fruit flavors. Or You can use squirts of your favorite Torani syrups or flavored extracts like Mint, almond, coconut or hazelnut for flavorings. They even have extracts for fruit flavors, chocolate and caramel!
Simply mix in the flavor you want into the yogurt at the same time as the sweetener. Then proceed as normal.
Simple as that you have your own delicious homemade frozen yogurt to enjoy on a warm summer evening!
It is also great to share with neighbors at a summer BBQ! And a lot less sugar than ice cream!
What flavor would you make with our Frozen Yogurt Recipe?
