This last weekend was my son’s birthday. He follows in his Mom’s footsteps and is crazy about the iconic BBC TV series Doctor Who. So per his request he wanted a Doctor Who themed birthday.
Which I was more than thrilled to indulge. I put together a fun Doctor Who cake (tutorial coming soon) and we all know you have to have ice cream with birthdays! So I put together a fun Doctor Who Candy Bar Shake.
Doctor Who Candy Bar Shake
So this weekend I made a stop in at Walmart to pick up everything for the boy’s birthday. While there we got to try out the fun Demo of the Blue Bunny Ice cream. If you missed it, don’t worry they have another demo coming June 4-7 where they will be sampling Blue Bunny Premium Vanilla sandwiches.
We picked up the ingredients for our sweet Doctor Who candy bar shake at the same time. You can try any kind of Blue Bunny Ice Cream really, but I needed to go with the Tardis blue theme; so I grabbed classic Vanilla.
Then make sure to also pick fresh blueberries and your favorite kinds of candy bars. If you get the snack size they chop up the easiest and are perfect size for the shake.
Doctor Who Candy Bar Shake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup milk
- 4 scoops Blue Bunny Vanilla ice Cream
- 1 cup Fresh Blueberries
- 1/2 cup chopped candy bars (your favorite variety)
Instructions
- Add the Milk, Blue Bunny Ice cream and blueberries into blender.
- Blend until smooth
- If you want a thicker shake add a little more ice cream
- Toss in the candy bars
- Pulse your blender for a few seconds to blend in the candy bars but not so much that it completely chops up the candy bars.
- Pour into a glass
- Top with Whipped Cream
- Sprinkle with more blueberries and chopped candy bars
Now if you find you need a thicker shake add more ice cream scoops or decrease the amount of milk. But this recipe will give you a shake that is smooth enough to slide easily through a straw. But not too thin either.
When you are done pour into your favorite glasses and top with whipped cream and more candy bar chunks and blueberries.
Then enjoy with your family while watching your favorite Doctor Who episode! Or just enjoy it alone. Either way it will be a hit! And if you happen to host a Doctor Who party, this will be the favorite treat to host! All your Whovian fans will absolutely love it!
And anyone who isn’t enlightened into the brilliance of Doctor Who, well they will still love the blend of the Blue Bunny Vanilla Ice Cream with the fresh blueberries and candy bar chunks. The flavors blend so well together to leave you a delicious chocolate and blueberry flavor to dance across your taste buds.
Really it’s quite cosmic. The only thing left to do is yell “GERONIMO” and dive right in!
