Summer means a lot of things. It means sunshine. Grass. Warm nights and picnics. Picnics means food. And food means same old same old. Right?
Wrong!
This afternoon my sister-in-law texted and they wanted to have a last minute BBQ. What do you serve when you don’t have time to plan a dish?
Easy.
You serve this Sweet Chili Chicken Sandwich. There’s no marinating or waiting. It’s fast, it’s delicious, and it’s going to blow your socks off. Head over to Smith’s to grab a new twist on a classic Ranch from Hidden Valley.
They’ll be in the Salad Dressing and condiments aisle. So easy, my five-year-old found it!
While you’re there, grab anything else you need, though you probably already have it on hand. And with this dish, there’s no prepping. Just throw it together.
Sweet Chili Chicken Sandwich
4 chicken breasts
1 bottle Sweet Chili Ranch from Hidden Valley
4 slices Swiss cheese
1 cup French fried onions
4 sandwich buns
Optional sandwich toppings: Mayo, bacon, avocado, tomato
Preheat grill and turn on broiler to 500 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Trim chicken breasts. If they are thick, you can flatten them with a meat mallet.
Place on grill and brush on a layer of Sweet Chili Ranch.
Cook for 5 – 8 minutes.
Place the French Fried onions in the preheated onion.
Flip and brush on another layer of Sweet Chili Ranch.
Cook for additional 5 – 8 minutes.
Put a slice of cheese on each chicken breast to melt.
Place a chicken breast on each sandwich bun. Top with toasted French Fried onions.
Add desired toppings and enjoy!
