But it says spring is here and summer is right around the corner. That means an increase in frozen desserts in our house. We try to keep sugar consumption low. And when I make them; I share them out to family and neighbors.

Swirlio comes with a recipe book with 50 mouth-watering recipes you can try like Peach Melba Supreme, Pumpkin Pie and Bahama Mama. Or you can also make up your own combinations!
We quickly set up our Swirlio; it took less than 5 minutes. And then we were ready to go! I pulled out all our frozen fruit. And let the kids pick out their own favorite fruit combinations.
The boys both tried a Very Berry Sorbet soft serve.
- 1 frozen banana sliced
- 2 Frozen Strawberries - sliced
- 1 handful frozen blueberries
- Place fruit in a bowl
- Allow to gently warm at room temperature 10 minutes
- Insert into Swirlio Chute
- Turn on and process through.
The husband and I tried out something a little more fancy. We did a Strawberry-banana Chocolate surprise.
- 1 frozen banana sliced
- 2-4 Frozen Strawberries -sliced
- MINI semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Place fruit in a bowl and allow to warm at room temperature for 10 minutes
- Process through Swirlio
- Sprinkle with Mini Chocolate chips
We also topped off our chocolate fruit sorbet with a few more chocolate chips. And it was quite delicious.
When we created our Strawberry-banana chocolate chunk sorbet; I actually processed the Mini chocolate chips through the machine with the fruit. The end result was quite delicious as you can see. However, it did clog up a few times due to the chocolate chips. Either chop your mini chocolate chips smaller before processing through or use maybe a chocolate syrup instead for better results.
So be aware that if you are putting chunks of nuts/chocolate/etc through they need to be smaller than mini chocolate chips to not clog the machine. Otherwise just wait until the very end and add them on top.
Next time I want to try a peach, mango, banana combination. But I’m still on the hunt for some frozen mango! And a huckleberry flavor too! Oh there are so many options for delicious Sugar free frozen fruit sorbet!
Everyone absolutely loved their frozen soft serve sorbet dessert! It really did feel like we were eating something super sweet! But without any sugar! So I had zero guilt! I can totally see us using the Swirlio multiple times a week as the weather warms up. It will be a much better alternative to the high sugary frozen treats we normally indulge in over the summer months as we try to cool down.
The texture really was quite smooth, and there weren’t any fruit chunks left over in the soft serve at all! If you want a texture more like soft serve; you will want your combination to have at least some banana. If you want more of a traditional sorbet you can remove the banana.
What fruit combination would you try?
What is your favorite Sorbet flavors?
