One of our favorite meals is a juicy, satisfying French Dip sandwich.
Oddly enough, it’s one of the easiest meals to make. It just takes a little planning.
We cut up the meat, throw it in the crock pot, and walk away. In a few hours, dinner is served.
French Dip Sandwich
French Dip:
2 lbs steak, cut into strips
2 ½ cups water
4 cubes beef bouillon
2 tsp soy sauce
¼ garlic powder
For sandwiches:
Dinner rolls
Provolone slices
Horseradish sauce
Optional:
Onions and green peppers sautéed in butter
Place all French Dip ingredients in the crock pot. Set to low for 3 hours or high for 1.5 – 2 hours.
Periodically stir to incorporate the juices.
To assemble the sandwiches, place the meat on the roll and top with provolone. Layer the onions on top. Dip in juices from the crock pot.
The horseradish sauce is so important here folks! Like, you don’t even know. And let me tell you, I despise horseradish. Yuck. I can’t handle it. But if you don’t use the horseradish sauce, the sandwich is lacking. Don’t do that to your French Dip! It has so much potential!
Horseradish Sauce:
½ cup Sour cream
¾ tsp prepared horseradish
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
Mix and chill for half an hour.
Seriously, this is one meal that will satisfy a hankerin’ you didn’t even know you had. You can also try Avocado Black Bean Tacos. They’re amazing! (enter a sing song voice here) And don’t underestimate the power of breakfast for dinner with these Stuffed French Toast. Yum!
