By now it should be no secret that I love to bake! I love sweets. And baking sweets is actually quite a lot of fun.

A few weeks ago our neighborhood had a soup cook off and my neighbor Jeri brought these amazing dessert bars! Oh my goodness they were heavenly. She was gracious enough to give me the recipe. They were called butter bars. Oh my, they were amazing!

So I had a plan to make some up this last week. But life got hectic as it always does and I ended up making the chocolate coconut cream pie instead. Which was amazing and was eaten far too quickly. So a few days later I was left with a major chocolate craving.

So I figured, I already had everything on hand for butter bars, why not just alter the recipe a bit for a chocolate craving? Thus the thought of making Nutella Butter bars.

Plus I had just gotten an amazing  Cuina Kitchen Nonstick Silicone Baking Mat. I have wanted one of these for months and months. I keep hearing all my baking friends talk about how much they love theirs. So I figured to give it ago.

Now, my  Cuina Kitchen Nonstick Silicone Baking Mat is slightly bigger than my 9×13 pan, so I just had it fit as close as possible. It still beats having to grease the pan or using parchment paper!

Then it also made removing the entire Nutella butter bars from the pan a lot easier. Just make sure it is all thoroughly cooled.

Also make sure you don’t do any cutting on the silicone baking mat. It can damage the mat. Remove the goods before cutting. Thankfully the Nutella butter bars didn’t need cutting really. Slight pressure with a spatula and it is easy to portion into little bars. And I was truly impressed because even though this recipe is super gooey and sticky; the Nutella butter bars didn’t stick to the Cuina Silicone baking mat at all! They were super easy to remove.

And the Cuina Silicone baking mat is also very easy to clean. No more scrubbing the baking sheets. In fact my baking sheets and 9X13 baking dish didn’t even look dirty afterwards! And the silicone baking mat is really easy to clean, just simply wipe them off using warm water and dish soap, and rinse. Then hang to dry.

Cuina Silicone Baking Mats are oven and microwave safe, and can also be used in your refrigerator and freezer! Cuina Silicone Baking Mats can be used at temperatures from -40 degrees F all the way up to 480 degrees F (-40 degrees C to 250 degrees C). They are perfect for baked and frozen recipes as well as chilling cooked foods.

The  Cuina Kitchen Nonstick Silicone Baking Mat is also great for cooking up

  • Cookies
  • Cream puffs
  • crescents
  • cinnamon rolls
  • dinner rolls
  • basically any baked good.
  • Freezing fruit (no more berries stuck to the pan and no more need to peal parchment paper off frozen fruit!)
  • Even as a craft mat! No kidding my friend Holly from BowGiggles said she uses hers for crafting because the cooled hot glue peals right off. Who would have thought right?

You can use your new silicone baking mat for just about any baked goodies. You no longer have to grease pans or use parchment paper! What a lot of savings! Plus our goodies always bake up even on the silicone baking mat.

  8. You are not making my diet any easier to stick with when you post one of your delicious looking recipes! We love Nutella and the kids would enjoy these brownies.

    1. Ha! Think how my diet is going, I’m the one that has to bake these goodies for the kids and smell them and TRY to limit to just one tiny taste. Lol! But what can you do when you love to bake? Sometimes you just have to bake, even if you don’t want to eat it. But then you start smelling it and…hmmmmm. Lol I often end up giving a lot to neighbors so I don’t eat it all.

  9. The Nutella Butter Bars look great and seems like would be easy to prepare. How can I print off this recipe? Wouls really like to make these for my mom.

    1. Thanks Shelton. The recipe box in this post has a little “print” button at the top right. You can click that and should be able to print just the recipe. Enjoy!

  10. YUM! Those Nutella bars look melt in your mouth gooey good! I got a silicone baking mat just to see if I’d like it and it is like the #1 thing I use all the time when I bake. It really cuts down on clean up time. No more scraping off my baking sheets.

  11. I’ve never tried nutella and our son has a nut allergy but this is a yummy cookie roundup! Pinning it!

  12. I’ve been thinking a lot about getting a baking mat, but wasn’t sure it was worth it. I might need a couple so I can bake cookies more – I hate cleaning the cookie sheets. The nutella bars look yummy.

  13. I like your use of Nutella. Many people just spread it on bread. I did not think of using it as an adde flavor to baked goods.

  14. Oh my yummy! I definitely need some of the nutella bars and the baking mat isn’t so bad either. lol

  15. I am not a big Nutella person, do these taste like peanut butter bars? I suppose I could change the Nutella to Peanut Butter. I see lots of other recipes that I want to try like the key lime cheesecake cookies and the cinnamon roll sugar cookies.

    1. yes, you could change out the Nutella for Peanut butter, or even the new Hershey’s chocolate spreads they have a chocolate almond flavored one. Or get one of the Chocolate peanut butter spreads. Hmm…that sounds heavenly too.

  16. While I love Nutella and that recipe looks great I think I would also like the Snickerdoodle recipe as they are my favorites.

  19. Don’t laugh but I didn’t realize those baking mats were for lining the pans! I’ve seen them but always thought they were for laying the cookies on when you were done baking them.

I could never make Nutella Butter Bars though… we eat the Nutella with a spoon and never end up with enough for a recipe. LOL

  20. All of the above recipes are perfect for the enhancement of a pre -diabetic.

Are you really serious about making this stuff ?

The above is exactly what Americans should NOT be eating.

    1. We believe in a moderation in all things lifestyle. Sweets are acceptable in moderation. We don’t eat rich sweets like this all the time. Usually once a week. Nothing wrong with that.

    2. I agree with Amber! Most things in moderation is fine. Matter of fact, I had a Nutella sandwich Monday night, after 90 minutes at the gym. It was DELICIOUS. I have great blood pressure/cholesterol, healthy BMI, eat 90% clean/Paleo, can run 10 miles while pushing a toddler in a jogging stroller, and recently added lifting heavy to my workout regime. Pre-diabetic, I am not.

  21. Yum! I love nutella, and these sound delicious! But what looks best is the clean pan–cleaning up is the worst part of cooking, and I am so amazed at how well the mat works!

  22. OMG, you are killing me here! I want everything in this post! I have everything but the cake mix to make the Nutella bars. Those look amazing!

  23. Cookie heaven!! I could die. Those nutella butter bars look like my butterscotch brownies but a little messier to the touch. (I love messy food). Wish I could try a batch of yours!

  24. We love nutella! I will have to try and make these for an afternoon snack! Thanks for sharing!

  25. I’m European so I was raised on Nutella (lucky me) and love it in all it’s possible forms.
