Coconut Whipped Cream – perfect Paleo whipped topping!
When it comes to desserts nothing beats topping it off with a fresh homemade whipped cream! But for those that need to be a little more health conscious the next best thing is Coconut Whipped Cream! This is completely paleo friendly! It’s the Paleo whipped topping for desserts! And it still tastes absolutely amazing!
Paleo Coconut Whipped Cream
With the husband needing to eat gluten free, we have dusted off our favorite paleo recipes to keep foods within his dietary restrictions yet still full of flavor that the entire family enjoys!
One thing I absolutely love about this coconut whipped cream is that it is only 3 simple ingredients. It is super easy to make. And is perfect for anyone that needs to stay away from dairy!
Not to mention the coconut milk offers a delicious dessert flavor. Don’t like coconut? Don’t worry it isn’t a strong flavor. It is very light hint of a coconut flavor.

When it comes to picking out ingredients, I found the Taste of Thai full fat coconut milk works fantastic! It separates perfectly and it has the best flavor and smooth texture. Other cans of coconut milk I have tried have a more grainy texture and the flavors aren’t the same.
You need the can of full fat coconut milk to sit in the fridge at least over night. This will make the coconut milk harden at the top and separate. When you mix up this coconut whipped topping you want to use only the solid coconut cream and not the coconut water underneath.
You will also want to chill the mixing bowl and whisk in the freezer for 10 minutes beforehand. This is the trick to making sure that you get stiff peaks just like regular whipped dessert topping. If the bowl and whisk aren’t cold the coconut whipped cream will still taste great, it just won’t have the same stiff peaks.
Once whipped up, this is the perfect topping for any dessert! Or to follow along with a healthier appeal, we like to dip fresh fruit like strawberries into this coconut whipped cream! It is light, fluffy and has a great flavor.
I also love to use this Coconut Whipped cream with our Paleo Strawberry Shortcake to complete the dish! Make it even better with freshly toasted coconut flakes on top!
This Coconut Whipped Cream also goes perfectly with many of the paleo dessert recipes in the Make it Paleo (Referral link) cookbook.
It is one of my favorite Paleo cookbooks! And they have a great collection of baked desserts that pair perfectly with a light coconut whipped cream!
What would you dip in our coconut whipped cream?
Yum! Going to try this!
This sounds amazing!! This would be perfect with strawberries this summer, I never would have thought to make this before.
I am in no way paleo, but I can’t wait to try this. Coconut whipped cream sounds like just about the best thing ever conceived.
We aren’t converted to paleo 100% in our foods, I still like my non-paleo foods, but I do so love a good paleo recipe quite often. They are just so delicious!
And yes, the coconut whipped cream is heavenly!! My kids just loved it.
This looks amazing and definitely a great way to satisfy my sweet tooth! Pinned to try after I go back on low carb.
Looks amazing. You didn’t even use whipping cream. That’s neat.
This is a recipe that I am very excited to try out! I never thought to use non-dairy for whipped cream.
The recipe looks delicious, I will definitely try it, thank you!

How long will this keep in the fridge? I’m all about preparing food ahead of time . Thanks!!
As with all homemade whipped cream recipes, it really only lasts that day. Then it separates and you can’t get the whip back in. I always just wait until right before it’s time to serve and them I beat this up in my mixer. Doesn’t take very much time or effort.
I actually had about 1/2 cup leftover that I put in fridge. It was fine 2 days later. But you’re right, very easy to prepare.
