Make entertaining easy with a simple DIY Herb Cream Cheese Spread Recipe made with fresh herbs for easy appetizers that your guests will love!
I just love Spring! I love feeling the sunshine on my face and watching life spring back into full bloom with blossoms and leaves appearing. But really I love the fact that we can start prepping for fresh produce again!
Nothing quite beats having fresh ingredients to make your Spring entertaining POP! We’re all tired of canned and dried. With Earth Day last weekend, it inspired me to celebrate Spring by setting up a means to get fresh ingredients!
Which is one reason why I finally got my own tiny herb garden set up! It’s not as big as I would like, but it’s a start.
Finding herbs early in the spring is hard to do in my area. So I picked up some living herbs at my last trip to Target and potted them to make a mini herb garden that is all ready to harvest and will continue to provide me with fresh herbs all year long!
While I was at Target, I also found these inspiring RITZ Crackers in special Spring packaging that just got me so excited! I mean, doesn’t that packaging just scream
“ENTERTAIN GUESTS WITH ME”
RITZ Crackers are always a favorite staple when it comes to easy appetizers for entertaining guests. And they pair so well with fresh ingredient Spring appetizers like fresh fruits, salsas, herb cheese spreads, and fresh vegetables!
With Spring here, there will be plenty of opportunities to entertain. Now is the perfect time to start collecting your favorite Delicious Spring Snacks that are easy to make and will be a hit for all your Spring entertaining needs!
Some of my favorite Spring Snacks include:
- Fresh Fruit salsa and homemade cinnamon chips

- Herb Cream Cheese Spread on RITZ Crackers
Each of these appetizers is easy to make, full of great flavor that will have your guests coming back for more, and made with fresh ingredients that blend perfectly with your Spring theme!
Not to mention, the Chocolate Strawberry Mousse Toppers are insanely easy and are great for a quick treat in the afternoon. Check out the video below.
Now that I finally have my own herb garden, I don’t have to make a special trip to the store when I want to make my herb cream cheese spread recipe. I have the fresh herbs ready and available right in my kitchen window!
So now that I have the cool RITZ Crackers and the fresh herbs, all I’m missing is the cheese spread! So let’s get that made so we can enjoy a delicious spring appetizer (guests or no guests, it’s your choice!)

I think what really makes this cream cheese spread recipe pop is the fresh herbs. You could technically get away with using dried herbs, but really it just won’t be the same.
Easy Herb Cream Cheese Spread Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 3 Tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
- 3 Tablespoons finely chopped fresh Cilantro
- 3 Tablespoons chopped Green Onions
- 2-3 Tablespoons finely chopped chives
- 1 clove garlic Minced
- 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt
Instructions

- Combine cream cheese and sour cream in bowl until smooth
- Add basil, cilantro, green onions, chives, garlic, and sea salt

Make sure to soften your cream cheese before you begin. It helps to ensure there aren’t any lumps and it allows for easier mixing.
Mix cream cheese and sour cream in a bowl until smooth.
Add in the basil, cilantro, chives, garlic and sea salt and mix well.
Cover and refrigerate several hours or until chilled. This allows the flavors to blend.
For individual use, simply spread the herb cream cheese spread onto a few RITZ Crackers.
For a Spring Appetizer, pair with RITZ Crackers on a serving plate for an easy self-serve Spring Appetizer.
Or spread a little cream cheese spread onto RITZ Crackers and top with a grape tomato for a garnished Spring appetizer.
If by some miracle you happen to have leftovers, our herb cream cheese spread recipe can last about 1-2 weeks in the fridge in an airtight container.
