Turkey Seasoned Herb Butter for an amazing Thanksgiving Turkey
Welcome to November! I just love November because that means it is Thanksgiving Season! Often times Thanksgiving gets overlooked, but it is one of my favorites. I absolutely love the thankful attitudes and the amazing food. Always the food! And the most popular item is obviously the turkey! Now we have our famous Turkey Brine Recipe that helps you have the moistest (yes, I’m claiming that a read word, but only in November and in relation to turkey!) turkey you will ever taste! And to make your turkey even more amazing you will use this fabulous Turkey Seasoned Herb Butter!
Turkey Seasoned Herb Butter
Now this butter is not for spreading on toast. Although, I guess if you really wanted too… whatever floats your boat right? Who am I to judge? But really what I love this butter for is part of our Thanksgiving Turkey Tips to ensure even the turkey breast is super moist and mouthwatering!
And it is amazingly simple!
Turkey Seasoned herb Butter

Ingredients
- ½ C Butter
- 1 tsp Seasoned Salt
- 2 tsp Poultry Seasoning
- ½ tsp Garlic Powder
- ½ tsp Pepper
- ½ tsp Onion Powder
Instructions
- Place room temperature butter in a bowl.
- Measure and put all spices in the bowl as well.
- Whip the butter for 2 -3 minutes, or until the butter is light and airy, and the spices are well incorporated.
- Use for seasoning the turkey and basting.
- Enjoy!
Make sure you start with room temperature butter. If your butter is too hard, it won’t whip up light and fluffy. Which means the seasonings won’t blend as evenly and you may end up with spots that are more intense in spices than other areas.
Then it is as simple as putting all the ingredients into the bowl and whip until it is light.
Then simply spread on top of your thanksgiving turkey before you roast!
It will help seal in the juices and leave the top the perfect golden roasted color. And perfectly crisp on the outside with mouthwatering moist turkey meat inside!
Hopefully you will be enjoying the most amazing Turkey you have ever tasted this Thanksgiving with this turkey seasoned herb butter! Don’t forget to check out our other Thanksgiving Turkey tips and our Turkey Brine Recipe to have the best turkey ever! And it is easier than you will think!

We love making flavored butters for just this purpose- marinating and basting poultry. The past few years we have smoked and/or brined our birds. However, my father, personally, swears by a an orange juice marinade!
Oh just you wait Jenna! Tomorrow’s tip is a turkey brine! And yes, I use orange juice. Let me tell you it truly is the most amazing thing ever! I brine my turkey and then use this butter on top right before roasting! Best turkey in the world!!!
This is my fave time of year, too! The last 3 months of the year. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. I love it. And the cooler temps! LOVE. I will definitely be trying this on my turkey !
I do they same thing only I melt the butter and then sprinkle on the spices. I like making sure the bird gets a nice even coat with the brush.
I will definitely keep this idea in mind when I plan my turkey recipes for Thanksgiving…and Christmas! What a great idea. I often get lazy and just toss some oil on top of my turkey but this sounds too good not to try out.
Sounds like a great way to add extra flavor. Yummy!
I do something similar if I’m making a turkey on a day that isn’t Thanksgiving. I cook for everyone on Thanksgiving and have to keep certain things (salt and spice) out.
