Have you used Agave before? I have used quite a few Agave recipes and I absolutely love Agave! It has such a rich taste, which is able to sweeten foods without having to add a lot! Plus it being a low glycemic natural sweetener is a big bonus! I can have my sweets without spiking my blood sugar which helps keep my migraines manageable. I cook with Agave, I bake with Agave and it makes a delicious top sweetener for pancakes and more! But one of my favorite Agave recipes is Agave Butter!

Easy Agave recipes to create Agave Butter

Agave Recipes: Easy Agave Butter, a Low Glycemic Honey Butter Substitute

Now, I did mention this was an easy recipe right? Super easy! It only requires two ingredients. 100% organic pure Agave syrup and pure butter. None of that margarine or butter substitutes. Just pure natural ingredients. It takes near equal parts, for a full cup of butter, use 3/4 cup Agave Syrup.

But if you are just mixing up for your own little family, a smaller batch is much more logical. It’s better to make smaller batches and use it up, instead of making  a large batch and having lots of leftovers. It can be stored in the fridge and stays good for use later, but it’s not as fluffy and doesn’t look as nice the following days. But the flavor is still amazing. So it’s really up to you.

Agave Butter Recipe

For my family I used 1/2 cup butter and just less than 1/2 cup Agave syrup.

You let the butter soften to room temperature. Then you add in the Agave syrup and beat until light, fluffy and smooth. The spread and enjoy!

It is delicious anywhere that you would use Honey Butter. I love using it on top of our Sweet Southern Cornbread recipe. Oh my it is delicious. And everyone that tries it falls in love with it. More than just my family! I had a bunch of ladies over for an Agave tasting party. And they loved it. It was light, great flavor, wasn’t over powering and just the right amount of sweetness.

There are lots of different brands of Agave syrup on the market. What you need to pay more attention to is that is is 100% Agave, organic and natural. Make sure that the brand you are buying, isn’t adding any secret junk into your Agave syrup! If you get the right brand you can find ones that are certified organic, GMO free, and Vegan friendly! Plus they are gluten free!
