Why do I feel like I start all my posts with a confession? I dunno. But buckle up because I’m going to give you a few, just so we understand one another.
Confession #1, I don’t love fall. I tolerate it. I enjoy certain things about it, but mostly it makes me sad to say goodbye to warmth and sunshine. (BTW – Spring is my favorite season.) Some of the things I DO like about fall are the colorful leaves and being able to wear my cute sweaters that I had to put away for a few months. I also love the tasty treats that seem to awaken during this time of year.
Am I talking about pumpkin?! No. No I’m not.
Confession #2, I don’t like pumpkin. I like Caramel. Caramel Apples, to be precise. But have you ever noticed how messy they are to eat? Or how time consuming?
Caramel Apple Dip
It’s fast. It’s easy. It’s delicious. You don’t have to wait for the apples to set. You just mix, melt and enjoy. And did I mention there are only three ingredients? THREE.
- 1 cube butter
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 50 unwrapped caramels
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Stir constantly over medium heat until melted.
- Serve with sliced apples.
The thing that takes the longest in this recipe is unwrapping all those caramels!
If you don’t have helping hands, it takes a little while. But boy howdy, it’s worth it. Store leftovers in the fridge. They can be reheated in the microwave.
Now you know what you’re taking to your next fall/Halloween party!
What’s one of your favorite parts about the change of seasons?
