I’m sharing my easy KRAFT Mac & Cheese Star Wars Boxed Shapes dinner as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #Youknowyouloveit We hope you enjoy our easy Star Wars dinner for kids!
The last few months I have been sicker than you can imagine with the morning sickness. And that has left me unable to do fun things with the kids. And they have been feeling it. So I wanted to do something extra fun and special for the kids to help them feel a little better about me being so under the weather lately. But the kicker is I’m still sick. I can’t do a lot. But an easy dinner I can manage. Especially something iconic from my youth made fun and fresh for a fun Star Wars Dinner!
Star Wars Dinner creation
Now, for most families you say Star Wars theme dinner and you have excited kids. For my kids on the other hand, you’d think I just wrestled the moon for them. To say my kids are obsessed with Star Wars is well, an understatement. The boys have had Star Wars birthdays ever since they were 2 years old. They only ask for Star Wars toys for birthdays, Christmas and any reward.
So obviously to make something special for my kids I have to go with a Star Wars theme. But since I am still battling morning sickness, I had to go easy. And thankfully KRAFT Mac & Cheese Dinner is a total lifesaver for me!
The KRAFT Mac & Cheese Star Wars Boxed Shapes have no artificial flavors, preservatives, or synthetic colors. It also still delivers the great taste we know and love. And to make the kids happy there are four collectible boxes featuring Yoda, Darth Vader, R2D2, and C3PO. There are 8 collectible boxes in total, each with ½ of a character image.
So I used the KRAFT Mac & Cheese Dinner as the starting point for our meal.
So while the Mac & Cheese was cooking I got to work on the Lightsaber napkin wraps. You might remember these from our Smarties Lightsaber Crafts. It is the exact same idea but with a larger print out to cover the flatware.
Begin with the cute printout from Catch My Party. They have the best printables I’ve found so far for a lightsaber handle.
Wrap up the flatware into the fun colored napkin and tape closed.
Then wrap up the handle at the bottom of the napkin and tape closed.
And that’s it! So simple and the kids love them!
Now move back to the kitchen to finish mixing up the KRAFT Mac & Cheese Star Wars Boxed Shapes according to the instructions on the box. Just be sure to stir gently when you mix in the cheese. I got a little rushed as the kids whined that they were STARVING, so I stirred a little vigorously and ended up breaking up a bunch of the shapes. So long as you do it gently then all of the shapes should remain intact.
Next warm up your favorite nitrate free hot dogs and cut them up into little slices. Arrange them on the plate for an asteroid field. Yes now you have asteroid dogs! The kids will love this!
But we’re not done yet! Let’s throw in something to make mommy happy too! Fruit sabers! These are the best, because the kids think they are awesome, they can create them by themselves and the perfect side dish to round out the meal!
With skewers, start sliding strawberries, green grapes or blueberries to create the colored blade of the Lightsaber. Then slide half a banana on to the bottom for the hilt.
Then finally finish off the Star Wars theme dinner with a blue drink! Almost all the drinks in Star Wars are blue. So pick your favorite blue punch. Or make it a fun twist and mix it up with sparkling water instead of regular water.
And now you have a super easy Star Wars theme dinner that your kids will love! And you can feel great because it suits your kids’ preferences with better for you options.
