Not Your Average Bigelow Herbal Tea Recipes, Raspberry Mint Lemonade and Sore Throat Fighting Lemon Honey Herbal Tea #AmericasTea #cbias
Are you a tea drinker? It may surprise you that we are not. We don’t drink tea. With the exception of Herbal tea. There are so many reasons why we enjoy a nice cup of herbal tea. For relaxation, stress reduction, immune boosting, or to help fight off colds or combat the flu! For all of these we use Bigelow Herbal Tea! But we aren’t your average herbal tea drinkers either. It is rare that we drink Bigelow Tea steeped in water. The Husband can do it. But it’s just not for me. I grew up with my Mom always steeping our herbal tea in hot juice when we were sick. Nothing helped us to get feeling better, faster than a nice hot cup of herbal tea steeped in Apple juice. It tasted just like apple cider! Since then I have tried different herbal teas in different juice mixtures. And my favorite is definitely the Bigelow Herbal Tea blends. Let me share some of my favorites!
Why I love Bigelow Herbal Tea
I’ve always loved the Bigelow brand. After trying many different brands of Herbal Tea I eventually settled down with Bigelow. The blends are more friendly to my taste buds. They have a delicious blend of herbs such as mint with lemon. I never would have thought of that. But it is quite delicious. Or Pomegranate with Apple, blackberry leaves, orange peel and licorice root. Amazing. And the husband loves Sweet Dreams when he is stressed from school and needs a little something to help him unwind. It is a brilliant blend of Chamomile, Hibiscus, peppermint leaves, rose blossoms, spearmint leaves, and orange blossoms.
I also love the Bigelow Herbal tea blends, because they are caffeine free. And they are full of quality herb blends. So I can often use them with my kids when they get sick, just as my mom used herbal tea for me when I was a little girl. And they really love the flavor of the Bigelow herbal tea steeped in apple juice! It helps them feel better and get better a lot faster. And with the herbs being in Tea form, I can actually get them to ingest the herbs they wouldn’t take otherwise.
And to help my love for them grow, I recently discovered the Bigelow SustainabiliTea Program. Basically Bigelow is showing that they care for our environment. They have taken huge strides to ensure their product, production plants and more are more Green and Eco-friendly. Such as
- ZERO waste to landfill accomplishments in all Three 3 of their production plants.
- Their energy conservation such as using Solar Panels to cut energy costs
- Land preservation movements.
- Plus they have joined the Ethical Tea Partnership!
I support taking efforts to improve our environment. We make little changes to help make a difference and have less waste. For us this year that includes making our own garden. I already have my Pallet garden bed‘s created. So it came time to fill them. I went to Walmart to look for some herbs to grow. First I’m tired of paying the expensive prices for herbs in the grocery store. But I’ve also always wanted an herb garden. Not to mention it also saves on energy and packaging waist when you grow your own. I found some amazing herbs at Walmart. You can see everything I found from my shopping trip in my Google + Album.
I immediately zeroed in on the herbs with the eco-friendly containers! Some of the plants and herbs at Walmart feature biodegradable planting pots! Not only does it help our landfill, but it also improves your garden bed!
Once I got them home I had a nice afternoon of planting my new Peppermint, Leafy Sage and Pineapple Sage.
Now I have my own herb garden. But they won’t be taking the place of my Bigelow Herbal teas anytime soon. Those will always be stocked in our cupboard. Bigelow is known as #AmericasTea. It can’t get much better than that! Let me share two of my favorite Bigelow Herbal Tea concoctions. Once you try them, you will be hooked!
Raspberry Mint Lemonade Bigelow Herbal Tea Recipe
When I need a nice relaxation moment I love using the Mint varieties of the Bigelow herbal teas. Sweet Dreams and Mint Medley are fantastic for this. But more that that. The mint in the herbal tea actually helps to open your air passages allowing for more oxygen. This helps to calm nerves. And can help combat colds or allergies! Now like I said, when I was little my mom always made me hot juice with herbal teas. But in the summer, you don’t always feel like having a hot drink. So I love a nice Iced Raspberry Mint Lemonade. It is super easy to mix up too! You need:
- 1 cup hot lemonade flavor of your choice (pink, regular or Simply Raspberry Lemonade)
- 1 Mint Medley Bigelow Herbal Tea packet
- 1 handful Frozen Raspberries
Heat the Lemonade in the microwave for one minute. Then Steep the Bigelow herbal tea for 3-5 minutes in the hot Lemonade. Finally add the frozen Raspberries. Wait for a few moments, and then enjoy! If you like an even colder drink, add in some ice cubes.
The Mint Medley Herbal tea not only features Mint, but also plays very well with a fresh lemonade drink. It features Peppermint Leaves, Spearmint leaves, rose hips, lemon peel, and hibiscus.
Sore Throat Buster Lemon Honey Herbal Tea Recipe
Now this last weekend, the kids passed off a nasty head cold. It is one of those that leaves you with a very sore throat. I mean it was on fire! Nothing I took would make it feel better. And I was starting to lose my voice. That is just not acceptable for a Mom! Who has time for that? No one! So I thrived on our Sore Throat Buster Lemon Honey Herbal tea recipe. It is the only thing that gave me any relief for my sore throat. And in one day my voice had returned! Not saying that it will happen for everyone. But the ingredients are known by speaking experts everywhere to be beneficial to your vocal chords. You will need:
- 1 cup Hot apple juice
- 1 I Love Lemon Bigelow Herbal Tea packet
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon powder.
Heat the apple juice until quite warm. Steep the Bigelow Herbal tea for 3-5 minutes. Then stir in the honey and cinnamon. Mix well. And then sip and enjoy relief from your sore throat. Repeat this every 3-6 hours as needed until the sore throat is gone and your voice has returned.
Sharing the Joy of Bigelow Herbal tea
Bigelow tea has helped me so much over this last week. I wanted to share that benefit with someone else. And frankly who better than my own husband. He has been so stressed from school. Upper Level Mechanical Engineering is not something to laugh at. He is gone more than he was when he was working full time. And he still struggles to get all the homework finished. They really do take the old saying “2 hours of homework for every hour in class” seriously.
He comes home each night, tired and stressed. He is in some serious need of unwinding and combatting stress. So I put together a fun little “Battle Stress Bottle” gift for him. It includes his favorite Dove Dark Chocolates and a variety of his favorite Bigelow Herbal teas. Especially the Sweet Dreams and Mint Medley for unwinding. All packaged in the perfect Mason Jar cup with lid! This way he can take his herbal teas to school with him each day in his lunch. And enjoy them when the stress starts to climb.

What is your favorite way to enjoy Bigelow Herbal Tea?
What if your favorite flavor of Bigelow Herbal tea?
I love all of your great pictures. Makes me want to run out and give it a try. Thanks for sharing the herbal tea recipe.
I love that Bigelow is adamant about sustainability. It makes it easier to support a company that supports the environment.
Amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing, the Mint Medley looks yummy!

I love the Raspberry Mint Lemonade ~ yummy, thank you for sharing!
I’m not really a tea girl but I’ve heard that herbal tea is very relaxing.
Living in Vegas where it’s always a gazillion degrees, it’s a law that you have to make sun tea! Ok, it’s not, but it should be. We ONLY buy Bigelow! ONLY… 😉
These sound fantastic and I can’t wait to try them!
I love the idea of using hot juice! I bet I could get my son to drink herbal tea that way!
You are my kind of girl…love the Raspberry Mint Lemonade YUMMMM.. I made some the other day while I was fighting a sinus infection and just LOVE it.. Honey & tea are just the best thing ever to make you feeling better… I do love tea’s BUT as most of us German’s herbal tea and fruit teas are my favorite.. don’t give me a black or green tea.. just can never get friendly with those.. I take a Peppermint or a cherry hibiscus flavor any day …. Loved your picture and reading your post. Thanks for sharing
I miss the German herbal teas too. They had the best fruit teas! I would often visit the shops in Baumholder just so I could get the REAL thing. None of that silly Commissary stuff. I think that’s why I like Bigelow herbal teas the best in the USA. It’s more of the herbal and fruit flavors.
The herbal teas are a mainstay for me. I am a caffeine free chic because of health complications, and although I drink a lot of loose leaf teas, I have a huge selection of Bigelow herbal teas as well. My kids like them, too, especially when they are not feeling well. I am especially fond of all mint varieties, and of course, Mint Medley is a fave. I put peppermint sticks in that in the fall and winter when my kids have sore throats or noses, and it clears them right up.
Can I just have the stress relief one now? Seriously though I’m a HUGE tea drinker and all I drink is Bigelow. You can make so many amazing teas out of their flavors and I just added several new option to the list thanks to your post!
Raspberry mint sounds nice!
Love your pictures and great post! I LOVE having herbal peppermint tea and need to try this brand out next time i get some .
These sound fantastic — especially the raspberry! Yummy!
I love Bigelow chamomile to help me sleep. That raspberry looks really yummy
Love the fresh herbs for summer. Makes everything bright – can’t wait for some summer iced tea
We’re all battling a cold right now too–and it’s 85 degrees here, what gives??!! But anyways–I’ve *never* heard of steeping tea in juice–I’ll definitely have to give that a try! I love Bigelow and Sweet Dreams myself!
Pinning….. love herbal tea!
I like the de-stress gift, and that it comes with a mason to brew the tea in!
I make something like the sore throat buster when the family begins to get the sniffles. We always stock up on Bigelow tea, especially the Lemon Green tea, which just might pair nicely with your mint lemonade recipe!
The Raspberry Mint Lemonade sounds wonderful!!
I usually go with chamomile tea, but I am definitely going to have to try that raspberry mint lemonade!
I’m a tea drinker! I love tea infused drinks too. Perfect for summertime
I love herbal tea. Thanks for the info! This summer I am going to try to grow my own herbs, dry them, and put them in individual glass jars to make my own herbal tea flavors!
I really want Sweet Dreams. I always have trouble unwinding. All the tea flavors sound amazing though.
I’m not much a tea drinker to be honest. However the raspberry mint cocktail sounds awesome!
I LOVE this post! First of all, LOVE Bigelow tea. Secondly, loved how you showed how the herbal teas can be so helpful!
I love your cups! So adorable!
I often forget how yummy teas can be over ice in the summer. I love the idea of the raspberry lemonade in particular.
How do I unwind – hmmm a nice cup of tea and some yummy cookies would be great!
Oh yum! 🙂 I love herbal tea, thanks for the ideas!
I LOVE TEA. I drink it at least 3 times a day, and these all look so great!
I love tea. I would probably prefer one with honey 🙂
Your herbal tea drinks sound fabulous! I’ve never thought to steep in hot juice, but I’m totally going to try it. And you’ve inspired me to grow some herbs — I’m also tired of paying high prices for them. Maybe if I started some in my kitchen, I could keep them going without killing them. I’ll try!
I’m not a huge fan of tea but these look pretty good!
very nice selection, I will have to keep the sore throat one in mind in cold season comes. They all sound nice and refreshing!
I love the idea of doing a gift with the tea.
I love tea and am always a on a look out for new recipes and be more creative. Great recipes for summer too!
Pinned it.
Thanks.
I know in the winter some herbal teas would be a great choice over the medicines they have out there. I hate taking any kind of medicines.
I adore Constant Comment. I always make people smell it… and, of course, I sniff it full on when I open a package. I always keep it on hand and wouldn’t let the cupboard be without it. My dad likes to take a package in his pocket in case he’s out at a restaurant!
You know, this is great. I’ve been gardening myself and I just love that element mixed in with a recipe for my favorite tea brand. (Just look in my cupboard… Bigelow on nearly every package!)
