A special thanks to Smiley360 for sending me free samples of Pompeian Grapeseed Oil All-Natural Cooking Spray to use to create the perfect loaded hash browns recipe. All opinions and experiences are completely my own.
I am a huge fan of morning hash browns. Obviously living in Idaho; you just have to love potatoes. But I have loved them my entire life; even growing up in Wyoming. Through my long years of cooking, I have learned a few tricks to make the most delicious hash browns recipe. But the only down side is that a lot of them required a lot of butter. Now with me trying to be more careful in eating healthier meals; I knew the butter had to go. But the last thing I wanted was oil drenched and soggy hash browns. I have been playing with alternatives to create a delicious hash browns recipe that was still full of flavor, and had that refreshing crunch I had grown to love about my mom’s homemade hash browns.
There is just something about butter that helps the hash browns turn golden and crispy. Without making them soggy. I’ve visited many restaurants or even family homes where they cook their hash browns in oil. The result is soggy and oil drenched hash browns. Not a fan at all. Sorry. I like my hash browns with a slight crisp texture and not have a greasy texture.
I took the challenge to try cooking up a meal with the new Pompeian Grapeseed Oil All-Natural Cooking Spray. I knew this might just be the answer to the perfect loaded hash browns recipe; cutting out the butter and still having a delicious flavor and slight crisp texture.
The Pompeian Grapeseed oil All-Natural Cooking spray is just as it says. 100 % all natural. It is imported from France and has a high smoke point so it is perfect for stir-frying, sautéing, grilling and baking! Plus it allows your food to remain much of it’s natural flavor, more so than other oils.
Pompeian Grapeseed Oil is a rich source of Vitamin E and antioxidants and is now available in a new innovative, eco-friendly cooking spray can! Unlike some other sprays, Pompeian Grapeseed Oil spray can contains no propellants because of the newly designed pouch system, which also protects the oil from damaging light.

What a neat idea! I'd love to get away from regular cooking oil if I found one I didn't mind the taste of. Do you notice that this product adds its own flavor onto your food or is it mostly tasteless?

I'm sure it has it's own taste, but I couldn't taste it. I had added a very small pat of butter (less than 1 Tablespoon) at the end just for flavor and that is what I could taste in the hash browns. So, definitely very light if at all.
