Oh the weather outside is frightful; but the fire….Oh wait; we don’t have a fire. We have to come up with new alternatives to warming our hearts and bodies from this freezing cold wave that has swept through our town. Usually when it gets cold like this; the kids are stuck indoors a lot more than they would like. And they get bore. Bored kids does not a happy Mama make! That is usually when they start fighting and getting into trouble. So to help brighten things up and join in the fun and excitement they have for the upcoming release of the Disney FROZEN movie; I gave the kids a mini FROZEN party with Walmart toys.
How to host a Disney FROZEN party
A FROZEN party is actually quite simple. Doesn’t take a lot of time. Just a little planning ahead and a little creativity. And believe me, your kids will be over the moon thrilled! It is a great way to warm up their hearts after being stuck indoors so much with the colder outdoor temperatures.
First step is to visit Walmart and pick up some of the new Disney FROZEN toys and merchandise! They can sometimes be found in the toy section, on end caps, in the party supplies or even in the Christmas section, oddly enough. My local Walmart had them on an end cap to draw attention to them.
I wanted to make a fun FROZEN landscape; so I picked up the Castle and the Anna and Elsa dolls that go with it.
Then when I got home, I simply set up the scene. I baked some delicious hot chocolate cupcakes with a marshmallow frosting. I’m lazy and I just used the Betty Crocker mix I found at Walmart. Then Sprinkled them with blue sprinkles.
While the cupcakes were baking; I put together the castle and created a fun little mote around the castle with York Pieces Peppermint blue and white candies. With a KitKat Drawbridge in front.
I used the decorated Cupcakes as more landscape pieces such as hedgerow and mounds of snow.
And finally I added mini FROZEN floats! These were the favorite treat! Simply take any blue colored soda you have, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! The kids love the color and it completely fits with the theme.
I really wish I could remember where I found our blue soda. It is even called Frostie; which I thought was pretty cool. And it’s a blue cream soda flavor which my kids loved. But I found it at the store so long ago and bought some up for our storage room; that I can’t remember where I got them and if they still have them. But if you can’t find them; something like a blue raspberry soda would work great in it’s place.
When the kids got home from school; they were met with our mini FROZEN party; and it completely lifted their spirits. They were so excited! The boys thought the castle was very cool and even said they hope Miss Jade will share it with them. I have such sweet hearts that are willing to even play “dolls” with their sister because it makes her happy. Aren’t they awesome? Miss Jade, although she loved the treat; was crazy about the dolls and the castle.
All the kids had a blast; and they are now even more excited to go see FROZEN when it is released!

I have to tell you about the party I just attended with my daughter. It was a Frozen themed party and included some of the ideas here and from other blogs but a unique thing that the mom did was to find an Elsa and Anna look alike to portray Queen Elsa and Princess Anna from Disney's new movie Frozen. These 2 girls (sisters in real life) from a company out of Atlanta called look alikes and Characters Entertainment, were spot on look alikes and absolutely gorgeous girls!! Another unique thing that these girls did is to come out and actually PERFORM!! I was floored! They were SOOOOO GOOD! First Elsa came out and performed Let it Go and then Anna came out to join Elsa in a duet and perform For the First Time in Forever. Then the girls lead some wonderful themed games and activities. Then they gave the whole group of party guest the chance to come up and sing 'Let it Go' with real music and microphones. I have never been so impressed as I was with these girls and this party. My daughter already has asked me about Elsa and Anna coming to their party in December. I can't wait to start planning.
