Spring and Summer are the perfect time for hosting all kinds of parties. From Summer garden parties, Spring tea parties, end of school parties, summer BBQs, birthday parties or just for fun parties.
They are great excuses for great food, perfect company, and fun decorations.
For me, I have a little man who has a birthday right before we begin Summer vacation. Often times we are so stressed with all the end of school activities, finals tests, and projects, that we all just need a break to really have fun.
So I like to really make his birthday a cause for all of us to unwind and have fun.
This year, I wanted to do something special. While we can’t have a full-on party with friends due to timing, we’re still going to make it special with family and these adorable Up, Up and Away… Hot Air Balloon Party Favors.
Up, Up and Away… Hot Air Balloon Party Favors
Best of all they are so incredibly easy! Not even kidding. Because just like the kids, I’m swamped and stressed and I need EASY. And not only are they easy to make, they also don’t cost very much at all!
Grab some baskets, party favor toys and candies from a dollar store, a few small craft supplies, a cute stuffed animal passenger for the hot air balloon ride, and your Balloon Time Helium tank kit and that’s all there is to it!
I made one for each kid so no one gets left out. And they turned out so cute, I’m thinking I might have to go get another basket to make one for the Husband and myself so we aren’t left out either.
Let me show you just how incredibly easy these Hot air balloon favors are to make. You are going to love these! They are perfect for any birthday party when you need a simple but fun party favor.
Or with a few tiny alterations to colors and what you fill the baskets with, they can also double as baby shower party favors, wedding centerpieces, bridal gifts, or even Teacher Gifts! The options are endless!
Hot Air Balloon Party Favor Supplies:
- 1 Balloon Time Helium Tank kit
- Ballons
- Hemp Cord
- Party Favor Baskets
- Stuffed animal toy for each kid
- Other small toys and candy to fill
- Cards stock paper various colors/patterns
- Triangle paper punch
- Double sided tape
- Scissors
Begin by setting up the baskets. Tie one end of the thin hemp cord to one side of the basket. String across the front and tie to the other side and tie off. Trim the edges.
Use the triangle punch and punch out about 5 triangles in various colors of cardstock for each basket. Or however many you need to go across the front.
Use double sided tape to tape each triangle to the hemp cord hanging across the front of the basket. Now you have the banner.
Add the main attraction to the hot air balloon party favors – the stuffed animal toy. This is the character that looks like it is RIDING in the hot air balloon so it needs to be stationed first so it looks best.
Add in additional party favors of your choice as 2nd thoughts into the basket. I added in fun items such as sparkling juices, and candy, simple party favor toys that I know they will have fun with, and silly string.
Really you can get as fancy or simple as you like. Just pick things you know the kids will enjoy.
If you want to, you can also attach name tags to each basket. Or you can keep it simple and just let each kid pick their favorite basket. I went with simple. I like simple. Mom’s need to be OK with simple. We have enough stress to deal with, right?
Now we move onto attaching the balloon to give the look of a hot air balloon to the basket!
This is where the Balloon Time Helium Tank becomes the star of the show!
Start by picking out balloons in various colors.
Make a slip knot with the hemp cord.
Follow the instructions on the Balloon Time Helium Tank.
Fill the balloon with helium using the Balloon Time Helium tank. I love how simple it is to decorate with helium balloons with your own Balloon Time Helium tank!
Attach the slip knot to the balloon and then attach the other end of the hemp cord to the side of the basket. Add another piece of hemp cord to the balloon and attach that to the opposite side of the basket so the balloon it attached to at least 2 middle sides of the basket.
If you’d rather, you can repeat and attach at 4 different corners.
Add any additional embellishments you want, such as more mini banners to the balloon or such.
Repeat the process for each party favor you need.
It’s so incredibly simple to create adorable hot air balloon party favors for each kid that they will talk about for months to come!
And come the day of the party, fill up more balloons with the Balloon Time Helium Tank to finish decorating for the party.
Thanks to the Balloon Time Helium Tank it makes decorating for a birthday party super easy without having to haul a ton of helium filled balloons from store to home and praying none escape! Or trying to fit them into the car in some magical way without any popping!
This way, I can just wait until the day of the party, and simply fill them up as I need. If a balloon pops. No problem. I just quickly fill up a new one.
On slips out of my hands and floats to the ceiling?
No problem. I just fill up a new one.
One tank easily covers a full birthday party and I usually have enough left over for casual crafting or just silly family fun for weeks to come.
No need to stress about all the money I spent on filling up the balloons at the store and worrying about losing even just one!
I love just grabbing a Balloon Time Helium Tank for all our party decorating needs. It removes the stress and leaves me free to be creative.
Be sure to go out and grab a Balloon Time Helium pink tank for all your celebrations, whether you’re planning a big party or preparing a small get-together. It will fit all your party needs.
