Halloween is fast approaching and that means it is time to break out the baking supplies and start baking those spooky treats! We love cupcakes in our house. Who doesn’t right? And Halloween has some of the best cupcake decorating ideas! One of my favorite Halloween cupcake ideas is a simple witch hat cupcake! It is really easy to put together, yet everyone just loves how festive and decorative it is! Especially if used in a festive cupcake stand!
Witch Hat Halloween cupcake ideas
To create these adorable Witch hat cupcakes you simply begin with your favorite cupcake. It can be any flavor. It can be a box mix or made from scratch. It doesn’t really matter. I adore chocolate, so we went with chocolate for this creation. Then once they are cooled you simply create a delicious cream cheese frosting and add some green (or I’ve even seen a deep purple or orange) food coloring until it is the color you desire. Now you can choose multiple ways to decorate. if you want a stringy hair texture to the frosting you can use a star tip as you start from the center and just pull straight out. Then repeat all the way around the cupcake.
Or if you want something a little more smooth and not as time consuming just do a traditional swirl. We made both regular and mini cupcakes and it’ a huge hit to have a variety of sizes. Especially if you have little ones around, or people that need to watch their sugar intake. For the mini cupcakes, after they are frosted, simply add a Dark chocolate Hershey’s kiss on top! And using an orange glitter frosting, make an edging around the kiss.
For the regular cupcakes, add a Grasshopper cookie (upside down). Then place a dag of frosting in the center and add the Dark chocolate Hershey’s kiss on top. Again use the orange glitter frosting as edging around the kiss.
And that is it! Super easy. Very festive! And very much adored by all the neighbors and kids that see them! These are perfect for your Halloween parties as they take very little time to decorate. You can even have the kids help out! And they make a big impression!
To display them use the Sweet Creations Halloween Cupcake Stand. It is really easy to put together. And even more surprising is just how sturdy it is! I had our stand up in less than 3 minutes. And it held a lot of cupcakes! Plus it fits perfectly for a spooky Halloween party! For even more fun Halloween party and baking supplies you can also use the Good Cook Halloween Cake Pops!

Oh yum!!!! Can you send me some 😛
Those are so cute! My kids love cupcakes but whenever I make them I am the one that eats them all!
Great idea, upside down cookie and kiss for witch hat! Might try these for our Halloween party!
Looks great, I was going to do the witch hats alone but after seeing them on the cupcakes I’m changing my plan.
They look great and i like that they’re easy to make!
These look like a lot of fun to make (and even more fun to eat)!
I love the orange glitter frosting, but i can’t help wondering if caramel would work too.
I saw some cute tombstones made out of Milano cookies that would be awesome on top of a cupcake.
Oh, I wish I’d read this a couple of days ago! Most of my baking projects end up tasting good but looking horrible – I feel like this is one I could actually do! If the frosting ends up messy, I could just claim I did it that way on purpose! 😉
these are so cute, I think ill make them
I love this! What a cute idea!
