The thing I’ve discovered about Feta is you either love it, or you hate it. There isn’t a whole lot of in between. I’ve never heard a person say, “Uh, I don’t really mind Feta. It’s ok.” I hear both, “Oh, I love Feta!” and “I can’t stand Feta!” with equal vehemence.
I, myself, am the former. I loooooove Feta. Mmm. Love it. The problem is, it’s an ingredient you can’t just throw into whatever you’re making. You can’t just slice it up and put it on a sandwich or top your favorite casserole with it. You really have to use it wisely.
Not too long ago, I stumbled across this recipe for a Garlic Feta Dip. And you know how much I love a good dip! It was too tempting to pass up. So I didn’t. I whipped up a batch and loved it so much, I made it two more times in the coming weeks.
This creamy Garlic Feta Dip is ready in minutes. It's rich and savory, best eaten with veggies, crackers or smeared on a bagel or sandwich.
Ingredients
- 4 ounces crumbled feta cheese
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1⁄3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 TBSP Sour cream
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1⁄4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1⁄4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1⁄8 teaspoon dill weed
- 1⁄8 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the above ingredients with mixer until blended well.
- Cover and chill until ready to serve.
- Serve with vegetables or crackers.
I mashed mine up with a fork, but you could use a beater to blend it and make it even creamier. You can serve as the dip on a veggie tray or dollop it onto some crackers. You could also smear it on a toasted everything bagel. Top a buffalo chicken sandwich with it, or use it in a pita pocket to liven up your everyday meal. Try it out and let me know what you think.
So, which side of the fence are you on? Are you a Feta Lover or not so much?

Wait. We can't put feta in everything? Hmmm.
Pinning this so I can make it for the very next get-together. Probably two batches so I have one at home for the following day when I'm craving more of it. ;)
