What I love most about Autumn are the colors, the food, the smells and all the fun festive goodies! What I don’t like is the Cold and flu season. UGG! This last month I was down with the worst evil cold that lasted two weeks! I finally got better for 5 days only to be hit again by the cold’s even twin; yet another nasty cold. *sigh*. All just in time for the kids to be out of school for Fall Holiday. They are expecting fun. I’m barely keeping my head off my pillow. What is a mom to do? Easy Halloween Desserts like Spooky Pudding cups! That’s what!
So this is why I love these pudding cups so much. They are extremely easy. And yet so much fun that the kids don’t care that Mom is sick and not putting forth a lot of effort. It gives a fun activity the kids can participate in. It’s fun and festive for Halloween. And it’s a fun treat for the kids.
The key ingredient is the new TruMoo Orange Scream or Chocolate flavored Milk. I really wanted the Orange Scream milk. I mean how cute would these be with an orange base instead of chocolate! But I visited 7 different stores in my area and no one carried the orange scream. I was rather sad. But the chocolate milk is a favorite of my kids. They ask for it all the time, so they were still excited.
Why TruMoo for our Halloween Desserts?
Every glass starts with fresh, pure milk from your trusted dairy, which means it contains 8 essential nutrients. Each flavored milk is sweetened with just enough sugar and doesn’t contain high fructose corn syrup and contains no artificial growth hormones, no HFCS and has the delicious taste the kids love.
We have to be very careful with the dairy my kids consume, as regular milk makes them rash from head to toe. We believe it is something to do with the hormones given to the cows to produce the milk. But we haven’t been able to figure it out completely. All I know is that my kids can drink the TruMoo milk without this weird reaction. So my kids beg for TruMoo milk all the time.
So it was a no-brainer to give them something they would really cherish and still feel like it’s a special holiday off from school, even if I am too sick to do something out of the ordinary fun with them.
Spooky Halloween Desserts – Pudding cup Trifle
Spooky Pudding Cup Trifle
An Easy Halloween dessert that will please the kids and be easy on Mom.
Ingredients
- 2 cups TruMoo Chocolate Milk
- 1 box vanilla pudding
- Wilton Halloween Decorating Candy
- Gummy Worms
- 1 Banana
- 3 strawberries
- Crushed Oreo Cookies
Instructions
- Mix up the pudding with the 2 cups Chocolate TruMoo milk and pudding box.
- Allow to set up in fridge before proceeding.
- Place sliced bananas in bottom of cup
- Sprinkle with crushed Oreo Cookies
- Add a layer of pudding
- Slice strawberries and place on top of pudding
- Add another layer of pudding
- Decorate with Wilton Halloween Candy, Gummy worms and remaining crushed Oreos.
First step is to mix the pudding with the TruMoo milk as instructed on the pudding instructions. Now if you can find the Orange Scream milk that would be awesome with a white based pudding like vanilla or cheesecake. If you can only find the chocolate milk like us, you can pick just about any pudding flavor you want. Go extra chocolately with a chocolate pudding, or lighter with a vanilla or cheesecake pudding.
Next place sliced bananas in the bottom of the cups. And sprinkle with crushed Oreo Cookies.
Then add a layer of the pudding. Then a layer of sliced strawberries.
I found these fun Halloween Goblets at the store while I was hunting down the TruMoo Orange scream milk and knew they would be perfect. Don’t you think they totally fit?
The next step is to add a little more Pudding on the very top and then decorate.
Using a Wilton decorating kit we added faces and other fun Spooky decorations to the kit. You can do faces or something more like worms and dirt. Gummy worms are great for this one.
And of course you can’t skip the crushed cookies!
Set the kids down and let them have fun decorating their own pudding cup. It gives a lot of fun, offers them creativity and a fun treat at the end.
And Mom can go right back to nursing the congested head on the couch and listen to the happy little giggles as she watches them spend the afternoon having fun.
