Do you ever attend Demos at stores? My kids actually beg me to go shopping right around lunch time because they love visiting the food sampling demos at stores. And honestly I actually like them too. It is a fun way to find new products I wouldn’t have noticed before. And sometimes we find some golden ones like the new Hershey’s Reese’s Spreads! Oh my goodness, talk about Chocolate Peanut butter Heaven!
Last week I got to sample the Demo at Walmart (you probably noticed my excitement on Instagram at the time) while I was doing my weekend shopping. They had portions set up with apple slices, so you could spread the Reese’s Spreads on the apples. Let me tell you, it was instant love! I knew I would be bringing a bottle home. And I’m not the only one. Miss Jade stole my sample from me and finished it off within seconds. She absolutely the Reese’s Spreads too! But you’ll have to see her happy face by visiting our postings on Instagram.
If you want to go find your own Reese’s Spreads, they are found in the Peanut Butter section of Walmart. If you are lucky your store might even have a display nearby with a lot of jars available.
When you taste something like this your mind starts immediately planning all the fun ways you can enjoy the heavenly spread. From spreading it on apple slices, pretzels, crackers, bread, cookies, ice cream bars, oh my goodness stop me now!
Reese’s Spreads is a perfect combination of chocolate and peanut butter flavors in spreadable form. So basically it makes my snack time preparation that much easier! I don’t have to melt any chocolate to mix with the peanut butter. It’s already set up in one convenient Chocolate Peanut Butter spread. I open up the Reese’s Spreads and spread away! It’s quite magical. No really! Take a bite. You’ll agree…magical. As all things chocolate & peanut butter are magical.
But back to snacking ideas! With the chaos of work, school, holidays, I am all about the EASY and quick snack time. Usually it is a quick slather of peanut butter between a piece of bread and a stick of cheese and call it good. But after a few days of that; you begin to get board. What’s a mom to do? I want a tasty and convenient snack. Yet something that will please my taste buds at the same time.
So lets make something that includes some of my favorite pairings such as
- Bananas and chocolate
- Strawberries and Chocolate
- Chocolate and peanut butter
- Peanut butter and Strawberries
- Bananas and Cinnamon sugar.
Strawberry Banana Quesadilla Recipe
Yep, today’s simple snack recipe combines it all. So lets stop gabbing and get to the good stuff….the Chocolate!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Strawberry Banana Quesadilla
A simple and mouth watering snack time treat that kids and adults will love. Combing Strawberries, bananas, chocolate, peanut butter and cinnamon.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Spread 1 tablespoon of the Reese's Spreads evenly over each tortilla.
- Arrange the banana and strawberry slices over one tortilla
- Sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon sugar
- Place the 2nd tortilla on top with the Reese's Spreads side down.
- Press gently to help them stick together.
- When the skillet is hot, add the quesadilla,
- Flip once
- Cook until golden brown (about 2 minutes per side)
- Remove from Heat and slightly sprinkle with Cinnamon Sugar
- Cut each quesadilla into halves or quarters.
- Enjoy!
It is really quite simple. Take your flour tortillas and spread 1 tablespoon of the Reese’s Spread on each tortilla. If you want less chocolate goodness you can spread just 1/2 Tablespoon on each tortilla.
Then place on your fruit slices and dash with a bit of cinnamon sugar.
Put the tortillas together and gently press so they will stick together. But not too hard that you squish the fruit inside.
All the while have a nice griddle or pan heating up with a little coconut oil. And I do mean a little. You don’t need a full serving. Its just enough to dust the outside of the tortillas and to help it golden nicely and allow the cinnamon sugar to stick to the tortilla at the end.
Cook it for about 1-2 minutes or until the first side is golden. Then flip.
Continue to cook until the 2nd side is golden. Remove from the pan and lightly dust with more cinnamon sugar.
Cut up with a pizza cutter and enjoy!
By cooking up the tortilla it also warms up the Reese’s Spreads and you are left with a creamy chocolate center with the fresh strawberries and bananas.
For even more fun try throwing in some shredded coconut with the fruit!
Let me tell you, your mouth will be very happy with you after this easy snack time minute!
