What She Wore: Summer Fashion a Bit of Country with a Touch of Class

Summer if finally arriving and that means, it is time to change my wardrobe! No more long sleeves and super long dresses! No more wrapping up like an Eskimo! It is time to bring out the light and bright colors! Now just because summer fashion is upon us, that doesn’t mean it is always tank tops and shorts. I still have times when I need to be dressed up! So for today’s “What She Wore” I’m going to show you a great way to still feature summer fashion but with a touch of class. I received a few of these pieces as a gift for an honest review of the item. Others I purchased. However, all opinions of each item are completely my own and I only included them because I love them for my Summer fashion look!

What She wore for Summer Fashion

I’m a country girl. So I like my Summer fashion to display a bit of that western flair. But not so much that I can’t be taken seriously. I love the Side Saddle dress from Shappy Apple. It brings a perfect balance between Country, classy and vintage! All three of my favorite fashion styles!

The fabric is  thicker and very soft and smooth. It may be a thick fabric, but yet it doesn’t overheat. I can feel confident that it’s not so see through too. And it allows for bolder colors. And the cut and design is quite beautiful. I also love that they offer sizes for larger women like me. I like fashionable clothes but most places only cater to the tiny women. I love being able to find something fashionable and vintage in my size!

As for sizing the only downside to this dress are the sleeves. The cuff is a bit tight. I ordered a size up from my normal sizing because I had read that the sleeves tend to run small. And even still, the sleeve cuffs are rather snug. Now while the dress still fits, it is still a little loose in the bust and waist. I think it would be better with a little more thought put into the sleeves so I could have ordered my actual size dress and not have the bust feel a little large.

But if you know a good seamstress that is easily fixed. Either get the larger size and have the seamstress take in the bust, or order your size and have your seamstress enlarge the sleeve cuff. I also love the side zipper. It makes getting the dress on super easy. As I don’t have to find someone to zip me up! I can do it completely by myself!

But otherwise, I’m completely in love with this dress. I love the color blend and it is perfect for a Country Summer. And I always get compliments on it every time I go out.

Summer Fashion Accessories

Now the accessories always make the outfit. And to really make this Summer fashion shine I enjoyed some bling from Blue Nile! The Leaf Chandelier earrings are one of my absolute favorites. I have a huge fetish with dangle earrings. But the problem is I have sensitive ears. So many times I can only wear a pair of earrings for just a few short hours. Or the earrings are heavy and I can only manage to wear them for a few hours. But not these earrings. They are made from sterling silver and I can wear them all day long and hardly even notice they are there!

And I love how they shine! They are fancy enough for a dressed up Classy outfit, but also casual enough that I can wear them for daily wear. They measure about 2 inches long and are the perfect accessory for any Summer fashion collection.

I am also sporting a fun Blue Bird Nest Necklace I found off of Etsy. I can’t find the seller any longer, but all you have to do is search bird nest necklace and you will find many different ones to pick from. The color of the pearls matches perfectly with the blue in the dress.

To finish off the outfit, I went with luxury with the Cobb Hill Sadie shoes. I have them in black. But I think the brown would look much better with this outfit. But let me just say these are the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever worn. They have that perfect vintage style to fit any vintage outfit.

And the padding on the inside provides optimal comfort for your feet. Fashion doesn’t mean you have to suffer with shoes that make your feet ache. I can wear these shoes almost all day and not want to throw them out at the end of the day. I can’t say that for any other high heel shoes I own.
