As we reach the end of a year and begin the new year, it is no surprise that many of us will set a new resolution to improve our health and give ourselves a fresh start. Which is exactly what I’m doing! It’s not that it’s a New Years resolution for me (because we all know, no one really ever keeps those anyway). But for me it is just luck that I’m joining forces with Weight Watchers to create a fresh start at this time of the year.
Joining Weight Watchers for a new me in the New Year.
For me, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and possible sleep apnea (we are still waiting on the tests for that one). After much discussion with my Doctor, he believes I can truly reverse much of what I am suffering if I could improve my health, change my eating style, and lose a little weight.
Over the last few years I have slowly continued to gain weight. Little by little. I could lose a little here and there, but it would immediately come right back on. And nothing would last. The Doctor said that is a nature of PCOS. And that it actually makes it near impossible to lose weight and keep it off without a little medical help because of how it messes with the hormones. But now we are getting that taken care of with some medication. So my next step as directed by my doctor is to improve my eating and try to lose some weight.
That seems like quite the list right? A little overwhelming. So I’m very excited to be teaming up with Weight Watchers for the next 3 months to get me a great jump start on my new lifestyle. Not a diet, a lifestyle that I can continue on to getting healthy and experience some weight loss to get back to where I want to be in my life.
I will be experiencing the essentials program with live coaching. I am excited to have a team to back me up and help me get the most out of the program and to help direct me as I navigate this new course in my life.
Over the next 3 months I will be sharing what I am learning and my progress. Maybe even some of the fun recipe and meal ideas that I discover. Because I’m such a foodie, finding delicious food that is still good for my goals is very high on my priority list.
What I love is that Weight Watchers offers a flexible plan that can be custom tailored to fit anyone’s needs plus the support of real people to help us through the hard parts. But what is truly unique is that I don’t have to give up all the foods I love! But it will help me to keep it all within proper management portions. It still offers for real life celebrations and eating out, as long as you do it right. It will help you make wiser food choices.
Plus they have all the convenience of the program available on the Weight Watchers app right on my phone. So I can always log my food and activity right away! I don’t have to wait until I get to my computer. I can look food up, even when I’m at a restaurant so I can make sure to order the best choice.
I am looking forward to a new lifestyle where I am getting healthier, more energy, to lose weight and all without feeling deprived.
I am excited to create a new lifestyle. One that incorporates delicious food choices. Not just boring “this is healthy for you so you must eat it.” But real food that tastes really good. And is still good for you.
I am looking forward to actually losing weight over the holidays as I work on cutting back on the sugars, tracking what I eat to see where the damage is happening, and increasing physical activity. I will also be incorporating better snacks like one of my favorites Apple Slices with Peanut butter!
Or that delicious Fruit and Yogurt Parfait I made last year,
or even that amazing Chicken Parmesan!
