The holidays are here! That means holiday parties, Christmas lights, snow and travel to see friends and family! With all of those, two of those holiday features don’t go well together, can you guess which ones? Yep, Snow and Travel! I hate traveling in the snow. And even though we check our weather before the holidays, it is rarely accurate because it is so general and not specific to our town. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could check each day how much snow to expect before heading out to work, or on a trip, or even if there will be snow to play in for Christmas morning? With SnowCast you can!
SnowCast snow fall predicting app!
With the winter months you are always left wondering
- Should I shovel the driveway tonight or should I wait until morning?
- Should I leave work early to beat the snow?
- Will it snow enough to have a snow day?
And while the weather station can let you know if it will snow or not, it rarely can predict how much snow to expect. SnowCast is a simple iOS app that predicts snowfall in your exact area. SnowCast makes it easy to understand how much snow will fall in your location. It measures snowfall prediction in 6 hour increments. So you can check for current snowfall conditions. And what it will look like every 6 hours for up to 48 hours.
You can also check the radar to see the storm fronts moving over your town.
I downloaded SnowCast right before Thanksgiving break and it was so helpful for our Holiday travel! I was able to see just how much snow was predicted for our little area. It helped us plan our holiday travel based around if we needed to leave a little early because there would be snowfall. And wouldn’t you know it? It was completely accurate! It told us when it was snowing. Approximate how much snow to expect. And it predicted we’d have nice weather on Black Friday but snow again on Small Business Saturday. And it was right!
It also shares NOAA winter weather warnings and advisories.
And best of all, SnowCast is really simple. You just install and go. It doesn’t require any complex set-up. It uses your GPS location on your phone to pull up the snow prediction for your area.
SnowCast is fast loading with a simple and clean interface making it easy to check at a glance. I’ve really enjoyed using SnowCast over the Thanksgiving Holiday. And with even more Holiday travel coming up it will really come in handy. We will be able to know if snow is expected on the days we travel. I also look forward to checking and being able to let my kids know if they will have enough snow to plan a day of sledding or building a snowman on Christmas Morning.
