The best scent of Christmas is the Christmas Tree fragrance. With Thymes Frasier Fir candles you can make your home Smell like Christmas without the mess!
Most of my life, we always had a real tree for Christmas. It was just the normal thing. My Dad and if I remember right, my Uncles or brothers would go get us a tree from the woods. But as I got older, it wasn’t as convenient to get a real tree. The pickings were smaller, the license more expensive. And frankly, my parents discovered it was just plain cheaper to get a fake tree.
Thus we became a fake Christmas Tree family.
We soon discovered there are many benefits to having a fake tree.
- No pine needles to constantly clean up
- No watering to remember
- no sticky sap to clean up
- more cost effective – a one-time purchase of a fake tree can last YEARS. A real tree only lasts a few weeks
- Reusable year after year
- Easy take down. Just store back in box, no need to find a method to dispose of the real tree
But even with all these benefits, there was one major drawback that my Mom really struggled with! The fragrance of Christmas! Our house didn’t smell like Christmas.
It just wasn’t Christmas without the smell of a fresh Christmas tree in the house!
My mom was super innovative. She would ask neighbors for extra branches they had trimmed from their trees, or went to the tree market and asked for broken branches or Pine needle clippings.
She would gather as many pine needles as she could and then boil them in a simmering pot on the stove all Christmas long!
See, my mom was a genius!
But for me, I have 3 problems with this method.
- I never remember to keep water in the pot! It boils dry and that’s not good.
- We have a gas stove. I don’t dare run the gas burners all day long without direct supervision with kids frequently shuffling about around the stove.
- I have no source for pine needles!
So what is a girl to do who misses the fragrance of a real Christmas tree? I need my home to smell like Christmas!
