Skylanders Trap Team Top Video Game for Christmas

Activision is making my kid’s Christmas a dream this year by sending us a Skylander’s Trap Team starter kit for review. I’m excited to give you an inside peak before Christmas Morning! As always I only ever share my own opinion. 

Skylanders Trap Team is the game your kids will love!

Do you have kids? Do your kids like to play video games? If you answer yes, then I have the Top video game for Christmas for your family! Skylanders Trap Team!

If you have kids, you have probably already heard of Skylanders. But are you wondering what is Skylanders?

Skylanders is a fun and brilliantly designed video game series that features a magic portal where you put each individual skylander character onto the portal and it then ports that character into the game. It saves all character data in the actual character figure, so as they level up their characters, they can take them to their friend’s house and play with their very own Character at their house too.

Skylanders Trap Team is the 4th video game release in the Skylander’s saga following Spyro’s Adventure, Skylanders Giants, and Swap Force. Like it’s predecessors it features a fun new story line, new villains, old villains like Kaos; and new Skylander heroes!

Plus it includes the favorite characters and voice talents of the previous Skylanders video games. Like Patrick Warburton. Oh my heart, he is my favorite! *Swoon!* 

The husband and I have been playing it, as we always test out video games before we turn it over to the kids to make sure its appropriate. And let’s just say we have had a lot of fun testing out this game. The animation is lots better than the original Skylanders.

The jokes are timed better and the story play is quite easy. You can adjust it to different levels based on the skill level of your player. And there is a good guide that helps you get started on the game so you can learn what each control does and how to navigate the game.

Also it has 100 story chapter games you can play,

plus 50 challenge games,

plus 30 arena games you can play!

Now that is a game that will offer hours upon hours of gameplay! They won’t just play it through once and be done and bored. There is a lot more to keep the kids happy with Trap Team!

What else is great is if you already have the previous Skylanders games, the characters from the previous sets still work on the Trap Team game too! Although the new trap Team characters won’t register on your older games.

If you are wondering if your kids will like Skylanders Trap Team; just listen to my kids. I haven’t told them that we got Skylanders Trap Team yet. I’m keeping it a secret. But I did ask the kids to tell me why they want Skylanders Trap Team.

• You can trap bad guys
• You can play the bad guys you trap as good guys in the game
• There are new and different characters for the elements
• They look cool when you play them
• It’s just fun! (They have played all the previous games and loved them, they really want the new Skylanders Trap Team)

Every time we have passed the Electronics section in Walmart, Target or even ToysRUs the kids have had to stop and check out the Skylanders section to see the new characters. They have pointed out their favorites (which I’ve purchased a few extra Characters to go with the starter kit for Christmas unknown to them). And they always try to convince me that they need it for Christmas.

The Husband and I have had a blast with the Skylanders Trap Team and I can’t wait to see the kid’s reaction when they finally open it up on Christmas morning. Because they have been begging for this game for MONTHS. Literally.
