For today’s discussion on How to create an online craft store, A promotional item was provided. The host for this event is Still Blonde after all these Years.
Many Moms look for a way to bring in a little extra cash while still staying at home. For many moms I’ve come in contact with, they turn to the talent of their hands. Meaning they make something beautiful and sell it.
From handmade boutique hair bows, crochet goods, or even beautiful paper crafts or handmade jams/jellies to the local market.
I was once one of those Moms. I used to create boutique hair bows and crochet baby socks before my carpel tunnel got in the way and I could no longer keep up with the orders.
But relying on word of mouth for sales can only take you so far. In this day of online dependence, to really make a mark, increase your reach for sales, and show your professionalism is with a website.
But websites can be overwhelming and quite a bit daunting. Trust me. I know. I was in your shoes 6 years ago when we began this journey.
But GoDaddy has a new option that can help you get a beautiful website up and running in under an hour even for those who don’t have extensive website coding knowledge!
Yes, I’m talking to you Moms out there who just want to sell your beautiful handmade items to bring in a little extra money and don’t want to spend your life’s savings on a professionally designed website!
Let me show you just how simple GoDaddy’s GoCentral Website Builder is to use! And don’t let cost worry you. Simply use the FREE Month Trial to try it out! No credit card required!
Designing an Online Craft Store
GoDaddy’s GoCentral Website Builder offers Unlimited Designs, Integrated Marketing, and eCommerce Tools. And is available to build a site on both desktop and mobile.
To begin, simply sign up at GoDaddy’s GoCentral Website Builder. Pick which plan you want from Personal, Business, Business Plus or an Online Store. I started with just a Business Plus.
From there you follow the simple steps. Claim what type of website you want to set up. And give your site a name.
There are multiple pre-designed layouts you can choose from that make setting up the website quick and easy.
You have many options of fonts and colors to choose from. From bright and happy, to earthy tones and even natural.
Next, I moved onto changing the text. I love that I could see exactly how the website would look as I made each change.
Simply fill in the spots that you want to have text and delete where you don’t want text. Since I don’t have a storefront, I deleted my address because I don’t want people showing up at my doorstep. But I kept the business hours.
Then I moved onto images.
GoCentral Website Builder has various stock images right there you can use to get you launched quickly. Or you can easily upload your own images.
I just used the stock images for the main page.
But then added a SHOP page, and for that, I added my own images. Speaking of that, you can add pages! At the top where it says HOME, click on that button and then click “ADD a PAGE”.
Name the page SHOP.
Now add a section to the tab that says Sell Online -> and Add Paypal Button. This will add a box that allows you to add an item name, description, and photo. And it allows someone to shop for the item.
Fill in the information and you are done!
Simply repeat this process for as many items as you want to sell.
It’s really that simple! Now you have a Home Page and a Shop page completed!

You can call that good and get started on your own website. Or you can really optimize it to reach the people you really want. You know, with a crazy word the people in the website community call SEO. It’s something you need to do to market your site, to ensure you actually get your website seen by the right people.
And many people fuss about how difficult it is. But GoDaddy’s GoCentral Website Builder helps to take out the confusion and helps to make it simple for you to get set up.
Click on the triple line Icon in the upper left corner when previewing your site, then click on Search Engine Optimization. Simply Fill in all the boxes it offers you. Do this for each page you created.
Select whether your audience you want to target is nationwide or local. And then just continue to follow each step, answering each question it offers you to the best of your ability, describing your business/website the best you can.
Setting up an online craft store doesn’t have to be difficult or take a long time. I had my online craft store designed quickly in under and hour. Of course, I didn’t have a full inventory loaded. If you have more items to sell, that will take a little more time.
But if you have all your images ready and item descriptions figured out, you can easily have it all ready easily in just a couple hours.
Once you have your site as you like, simply click the publish button and follow the instructions to get your site live and get people shopping!
Don’t want an online craft store? That doesn’t matter. You can create any kind of website with GoDaddy’s GoCentral Website Builder. The options are endless.

I had no idea making an online craft store could be so easy! I'm not particularly crafty myself but I have a few friends who crochet together and make amazing things. They want to sell the extra crafts but need a way to go about it. I'll have to show them your post. :)
