In anticipation of the Fall Fashionista Event, we’ve brought out the jeans! Thanks to Monroe and Main supplying us fashion items; we are excited to share with you our tips on How to Dress up Jeans. All opinions are our own.
Well it is official, Fall is here! We had the first official day of Fall this week. And frankly with our new geographical location; it doesn’t feel like it is fall at all. It is still quite warm. Although the nights are cooling down a bit. Fall brings Color. And I love Color. It also means breaking out the jeans! Oh I love my jeans. There are so many ways you can wear jeans. Often times I go with casual; but they are super easy to dress up too!
Find the perfect Jeans.
First thing first, you need to find the perfect pair of jeans. Do you want boot cut? Skinny Jeans? Straight leg? There are a lot of styles to choose from. The best option is to pick the style that flatters your body type.
For me, I love skinny jeans….they do NOT love me. I’m a plus size. Me and skinny jeans do not get along. Unless I’m wearing a tunic with them. Then maybe I can pull it off.
Boot Cut jeans usually are the best for my plus size body. They give a slimming affect around the thighs and cut nicely for the behind and waist.
To add flare I love accentuated jeans like the Argentina Embroidered Jeans from Monroe and Main. They feature Swirls of floral embroidery with shining studs that make them do a double-take over your fabulous denim. Plus they sport a 4-pocket styling.
Frankly I just love that they actually fit my rear end. A lot of jeans aren’t so friendly to women with curves. These ones fit very nicely and cut just right for the curves.
Plus I just love the floral embroidery.
Dressing up the Jeans
To dress them up, throw in a fun and flirty top in a brilliant color. My personal favorite is a strong Kimono Tunic from Monroe and Main.
I absolutely am in love with my Kimono Tunic! It is a very comfortable fabric with a brilliant color that really stands strong.
And features Long, flowing lines that make this a great slimming option.
I personally love the sleeves! Longer on top, and shorter under the arms. It gives a flirty feel, but also helps to keep you from overheating.
The Husband loves the color. He adores me in this brilliant red. So it’s a great way to dress up a pair of jeans for date night.
It does run a bit big on the sizing, so you will want to order a size smaller than normal.
Accessorizing the Jeans
Lastly you need accessories with the Jeans. Pick out fun jewelry that matches the style. I used some selections from Monroe and Main and Novica that I already had in my jewelry box. You can never go wrong with Pearls or bit chunky bracelets when it comes to dressing up jeans.
So now we are left with the feet. Shoes are so much fun. You have a lot of options when it comes to dressing up jeans. You can use fancy flats, boots, wedges, or heals.
I love to go for a mix between dress up and business casual. I had to go with these adorable Healed Loafers from Monroe and Main.
These heeled loafters feature the classic penny loafer but kicked up a notch. They strut a sassy 3″ heel, that is wide enough to still give a good comfortable balance while walking. Plus the foot bed is rather soft for comfort.
I will say the toes run a little tight, so either have a good shoe stretcher and order in your size, or order one size larger. But they are fabulous to pair with jeans to complete a dressed up look for Fall fashion looks. Or to wear around the office or just because they are fun.
When I want to spice my wardrobe for Fall Fashion, I love turning to Monroe and Main because I can find so many options that fit both small and plus sized woman. And the styles look fabulous on all sizes. They know all about a women’s curves and how to accentuate them to the positive.
And I love the styles they offer. From Dress up to casual, business to play. You are bound to find something you instantly fall in love with at Monroe and Main.
That is why I’m honored that they are our sponsor for the Fall Fashionista Event! Come back October 9-17th and you will have a chance to win a $150 gift certificate to have a shopping spree at Monroe and Main yourself! Treat yourself to a little Fall Fashion in style!

Love the Argentina Embroidered Jeans - and I agree that Autumn means breaking out the jeans for me. I like all kinds of different style of jeans, including the good old fashioned faded (or stonewashes jeans) with a straight leg but relaxed cut style.
I do also enjoy skinny jeans ~ but like you ~ only with a tunic or long sweater. In cool weather the clingly fit is very comforting - but also depends on the shoes or BOOTS you want to wear. Thanks.

You look very nice with the jeans. The design is great looking. I don't dress my jeans up unless you consider a stain. LOL!
