Can I just say how much I dislike watching television? I always end up with a dilemma. The characters on TV have something my kids want, or they act in a way I don’t want my kids to emulate. The commercials convince my kids they MUST have a certain toy or go to a certain pizza parlor, or that if we don’t visit this theme park, we’re not as cool as all the other families.
Part of me thinks I would have loved the pioneer era. Where life was simple and families relied on each other. I am a realist though and know I never would have survived without running water and hand sanitizer. And all the critters? I don’t even think so.
But even though I wouldn’t have survived the era doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate what I can learn from it. Simplicity. Being satisfied with what I have. Making do with something that’s not the newest, latest and greatest. Working hard for things that really matter. Being brave in the face of hard things.
Those are all lessons I want to teach my family.
And has any book taught these things better than the Little House on the Prairie?
Laura Ingalls Little House on the Prairie has been impacting the lives of girls for decades.
And what could be sweeter than bringing Laura to life with a Laura Ingalls doll from The Queen’s Treasure?
This sweet 18” doll has the prettiest eyes I’ve ever seen!
Her soft hair is in iconic braids, perfect for bedtime or playtime.
The doll comes with her doll, blanket, pillow, and the box converts into her bed! There is a special insert page that the doll’s owner can color to bring her vision of the prairie to life. More accessories can be purchased at The Queen’s Treasure or at Target.
It would make the perfect gift! And now you have the chance to win Little House on the Prairie The Queen’s Treasure Prize Pack! The prize is worth over $800!
Doesn’t that look amazing?! It’s the entire collection, plus some! The giveaway ends Nov 24, 2016, so you have a few weeks to enter…but why wait?! I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m jealous of the winner. But I would say I’m overly excited for them.
If you want to learn more about Little House on the Prairie, you can head over to their website. There is so much to learn! There is a historical timeline and countless historical articles. There are also crafts and recipes. Perfect for little fans to do with their moms.
If I won this prize pack, I’d give it to my daughter, but I’d be sure I was close at hand whenever she plays with it. For supervision purposes, right? And if she just so happens to need someone to play with her, I’d be more than happy to oblige. If you are the lucky winner, will you be keeping this for yourself or giving it away?
