Of all the Leapfrog Toys we have tried yet, the LeapFrog Epic is the favorite next to the LeapTV (but I’ll be getting to that one in a few weeks, so don’t go anywhere!)
How Epic is the Leapfrog Epic Tablet?
Oh goodness, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this tablet! It is my favorite tablet yet that LeapFrog has released. It is truly EPIC! It is rightly named.
It is super easy to set up the LeapFrog Epic. I love that I can use the Wi-fi connection to set up the Epic tablet. In less than 5 minutes I had it set up, Miss Jade’s profile set up, new app games downloaded and ready to go! No need to connect to a computer via a USB chord. Although one is included in case you don’t have wi-fi then you can set it up the old fashioned way by connecting it to your computer.
The Epic Tablet is designed for kids ages 3-9 years of age. And comes with a brilliantly designed protective case to keep it safe from drops and spills. Because we all know kids will drop it!

The parental controls is a brilliant addition to the Epic Tablet. Parents can control how much children play, and which games each profile is able to access. The epic tablet also features web safe browser that Parents set up. This means they can only access the websites you approve! And you can set it up differently for each of the 3 profiles you can create!
Plus the abundant options for games. Including favorites like Fruit Ninja, Academy Math Master and Doodle Jump! And each app is Leapfrog certified to ensure there are no in-app purchases, no harmful third-party ads and only age appropriate experiences.
You can get access to games, apps, ebooks and even movies! Yes, your child can watch approved movies that you download onto the Epic tablet. Miss Jade absolutely loves the pre-installed LeapFrog Scout movies. And I often find her curled up with her Epic Tablet watching them.
The Leapfrog Epic tablet is truly an amazing tablet full of educational entertainment that draws on skills like creativity, problem solving, drawing, math, numbers, counting, reading and more.
Even the homescreen is a fun game in itself! That’s right the Epic includes the first of it’s kind playable homescreen. Kids can create a town and bring it to life. They can add buildings and accessories. The world turns from day to night. The weather changes and the kids can add different characters and discover new surprises every day. All from the homescreen! Just that in itself offers Miss Jade hours of entertainment as she designs her own homescreen world.
Plus the Leapfrog Epic also includes the brilliance of a rechargeable battery. Just like a regular adult tablet, when it gets low, just plug it in to recharge! No more need to stockpile batteries for the favorite LeapFrog toys! Miss Jade loves that she can recharge her tablet whenever it needs it. I love how much money I’m saving on batteries! Because she really does use this tablet all the time!
This is the perfect tablet to take a long on all those long trips. It’s charge lasts for hours. And it provides more entertainment in one small tablet than any other toy we have. This was great for the couple hours drive we took last month to visit family. And it will definitely be traveling along with us for any holiday travel that is coming up!

PLEASE HELP ME!! I'm going on a plane trip and need to download at least a movie or 2 for the my 19 month niece! This says it is possible but how do I do it. I've been on youtbe trying to download stuff but youtube won't even work without google play. Google play can't be downloaded to it. I need movie download because no wi-fi on the plane...please help me they leave on Saturday.....

That last time I contacted Customer service, they didn't have an answer about downloading movies onto the epic. But that was 2 years ago. They might have more options now. I'd recommend contacting Leapfrog customer service directly and asking them if they have a way to download movies onto the epic.

Leap Frog has so many fun kid-friendly tech based toys. The Leap Frog Epic looks lot a great way to entertain and educate children at the same time -- great gift idea for the holidays.
