Summer is here and that means there are lots of fun activities to keep your entire family busy. But one member of the family that sometimes gets overlooked is the furry members of the family. So how do you keep puppy involved in the summer fun?
Tips to keep puppy involved with BarkBox®
This has been a little hard for us lately. Because we have had to travel a lot. We have had to make 3 unexpected trips to family due to health issues, funeral and then the husband had to go back to our old dentist in Idaho to get a broken crown fixed (thankfully still under warranty). And sadly we couldn’t take Odin with us. He had to be left home in the care of some awesome neighbors.
And we have even more travel plans coming up, for which we can’t take him with us. So while we are around we want to make the most of our time this summer. We need to make sure we include Odin while we are home. So these simple tips to keep puppy involved really help.
- Plan a special day out where you can take your pets like a pet park.
- Take the pets for a walk or run around the neighborhood
- Just play fetch or other fun outside games with your dog
- Curl up with your pets and cuddle. (This is the husband’s favorite thing to do at the end of the day)
- Enjoy a BarkBox®!
So the kids always get new toys and new clothes in the summer. You know, fun water toys to enjoy playing outside. So why not do something special for your dog too?
BarkBox is brilliant because it is a new subscription box each month full of goodies that are delivered right to your doorstep!
And these are awesome toys and treats you won’t be finding at regular pet stores!
Let’s just say Odin always gets excited when something arrives for him at our doorstep! It makes for very happy dogs! Plus it’s a great way to remember to take that extra time to spend with your furry friend each month.
Remember a while ago we made a fun Valentine Box for Dogs? Well; seriously you should make one! We use it all the time! And then each month when these new treats show up, you can place them in the puppy treat box!
Then make sure you use the toys to spend some quality time playing with your puppy.
It will definitely make your puppy happy and feel included. And even better when the kids are involved and play with the puppy too! It didn’t take any encouragement on our part to get Miss Jade involved. She was more than willing to go play with Odin outside. And Odin was just excited about new toys!
Odin had a blast playing with his new toys from the BarkBox . They played Fetch and keep-away. But Odin always won in the end. And Jade was giggling her head off the entire time. Great opportunity for play for both kids and puppy.
Plus BarkBox gives you a piece of mind for those with a picky puppy! If your puppy doesn’t like something in the box then just email Barkbox and they’ll fetch something better for your puppy, no matter if it is damaged or they disliked the original item.
Needless to say, Odin is quite satisfied with his new toys. And he was a very happy puppy this evening after our playtime today!

Our puppy Dobby loves to play. He would absolutely love that giant toy bone! And there's no shortage of snuggling, he's like a big hair hemmorhoid.

My husband is bringing home a dog tomorrow. I don't know anything about dogs except the bark, drool and shed. I might need a Bark Box.
