Ok, so I have two kids. I know some of you have a lot more, and some of you have a lot less. As in, like, no kids. But no matter the shape or size of our little responsibilities, every single one of us is crazy busy!
I’ve never met a woman who said, “Man, I need a hobby. I just have so much free time on my hands.”
So if you’re anything like me, you’re trying to find ways to get everything done in the small amount of time you have before work/school/carpool duties, etc.
Here are some ways that I trim down my routine and get back to the basics:
1. Set my alarm for 10 minutes earlier than I need. If I know I have to get a few extra things done, that 10 minutes can really help me achieve everything! If I don’t need that time, a snooze makes me feel like I’m getting extra rest!
2. Set out my clothes before I get in the shower. You don’t have to do this the night before, though that’s a good idea if you have a big meeting with the boss. You’d hate to be late because you thought your power suit was ironed and it wasn’t. Anyway, I like to make sure I have an outfit so I can get out of the shower and get dressed. None of this standing around in a towel for 20 minutes trying to decide nonsense. I don’t have time for that!
3. Moisturize in the shower. You’re already in there, it takes less than two minutes, and if you do it right then, it’ll get done! If I don’t moisturize in the shower, I forget. Two hours later, I’m so itchy because my skin is doing its best Sahara Desert impression.
So yes, I keep my moisturizer IN the shower. For reals.
You can’t use just any moisturizer in the shower. My favorite is Neutrogena Body oil.
It’s a light sesame formula that absorbs quickly and my skin is instantly smoother. I know, you’re thinking your clothes are going to get all oily. Not so! I rub Neutrogena Body Oil on immediately after my shower, I pat dry, then immediately get dressed. My clothes have never been oily, and my skin is always soft and protected against moisture loss.
Oh, and don’t be fooled by the “Oil” part. My skin feels soft and smooth, never oily or greasy!
It doesn’t even take getting used to. You rub it on and it absorbs. End of story. It’s dermatologically tested to prevent moisture loss. I’m not joking, I’ve been using this for a while and I’ve never had to reapply lotion. Even in really harsh, cold temperatures, my skin is staying soft and silky.
I even put some of the fragrance free Neutrogena Body Oil in my son’s bath water because that kid hates putting on lotion. But pour it in the water and it instantly moisturizes his skin and he’s none the wiser. I’m sneaky like that.
And guess what? It’s the 50th Anniversary for Neutrogena Body Oil! Check out some of their old ads. This one is from 1978.
And check out this one from 1985!
Look at that bottle!
My question is: why haven’t I been using this longer? I don’t know, but don’t let that happen to you.
