How to use HABA Kitchen toys to encourage imagination play + Giveaway

I received HABA USA toys for review purposes, all opinions are my own. 

One of the things miss Jade’s Therapist encourages is imagination play. By being there with Miss Jade and being active in her imagination play we can actually get in a lot of language therapy without it even feeling like a therapy lesson. But the key is to use well made toys like HABA to spark the imagination and open the dialogue.

HABA toys encourage imagination.

One of our best investments was getting miss Jade a play Kitchen. She adores playing “house” and playing in her kitchen. I have yet to meet a kid that doesn’t. So it makes sense that you would need quality kitchen toys to go with it right?

We purchased some cheap kitchen toys to with the kitchen. Play food and dishes. I think she could tell they were cheap. She would constantly hide them all under her bed and wouldn’t play with them. To this day I don’t know why.

But in one more attempt to get the imagination going with the kitchen, we got some awesome HABA toys. I love HABA from our time that we lived in Germany. It was the one brand we always trusted to give our kids hours of fun entertainment. They never tired of the HABA toys. So I figured if anything could get Jade active in the play kitchen again, it would be HABA.

And I was right! We got Apple Pie, Hotdog with Ketchup & Mustard, Sushi kit and the Salt and Pepper Grinders. And let me tell you, HABA did not disappoint! Each set is beautifully crafted and durable. HABA produces the the most richly detailed line of soft fabric foods I have seen yet! And they are well constructed. It’s been a few weeks of rough toddler play and not a single stitch in the fabric has come apart.

But most importantly; Miss Jade is actually using her imagination! She is playing with her kitchen! She is asking me to play with her kitchen! And that is my favorite part! We get to play together and I get to encourage her language skills! I get her to talk about each toy. Teaching her new words as we play.

And even more exciting; I have not seen a single one of the HABA toys under Miss Jade’s Bed! They all remain in her little kitchen. And she plays with them every single day.

To make the imagination play even more exciting; you can even round off the imagination play from the toy kitchen into the real kitchen with some delicious treats! HABA also has fun Silicone Kitchen Molds that you can use to encourage Mommy and Me time in the kitchen making goodies! Our plan is to use our mold to make fun jello Gigglers once we get moved into the new house. Right now all my giggler supplies are packed for the move. But this is one of the first activities we are going to do together in the new kitchen!

The silicone Kitchen mold  includes 6 spaces for making fun-shaped ice cubes. Pour the mix, freeze, and enjoy a delicious addition to your drink! It also includes a brochure with three recipes! Or you can make your own. But what I really love is that The shapes have been specially designed for children and, thanks to their sturdiness, they can be easily transported, even when filled! That means less messes!
