We are quite lucky that we don’t have to eat gluten free out of necessity. But that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate the value of eating gluten free at times. I’m a big foodie and I sorely love my desserts. But too much and I am in a migraine nightmare. Someone mentioned that I should try gluten free dessert to meet my sweet tooth craving but without triggering my migraines as badly. So I was excited to try ginnybakes.
ginnybakes Gluten Free Dessert
ginnybakes is a family-owned company, whose passion is to create outrageously delicious and nutritious treats that everyone can enjoy. The founder, Ginny, is a holistic nutritionist, who believes that your body deserves only the finest ingredients, so she’s made sure that’s the only thing they put in each of their products.
Every product from ginnybakes is gluten-free, organic, non-GMO, and kosher. They also offer a line of totally vegan treats. ginnybakes produces cookies, bars, crumble snacks, and baking mixes—to fit each and every one of your cravings.
But the most important feature…how do they taste?
I’ve tried many gluten free dessert choices and really was not impressed. So I was really curious about ginnybakes. Everything sounded fabulous with the list of ingredients. But the real test is the taste test.
Every Monday we have Family Home Evening. A time to be together as a family, teach the kids, play a game and enjoy a delicious dessert. This time it was ginnybakes to the rescue as I had forgotten to make something for dessert. Oh well; we popped open a box or two of the ginnybakes cookies and enjoyed them as we played a game.
The favorites were the Chocolate chip love made with dark chocolate and oatmeal coconut bliss.
The Oatmeal coconut bliss; ok that one was really just one of Miss Jade’s Favorites. Everyone else preferred the chocolate. ginnybakes’ coconut oatmeal bliss line is made with organic coconut blended with dark, organic raisins, crispy whole walnuts, and gluten-free rolled oats to make the perfect oatmeal cookie with a tropical twist. The only way to make this one better is to switch out the raisins for chocolate! HA!
The kids loved all varieties of the cookies. The husband and I preferred the chocolate over the others.
But really got me in heaven was the bars! Oh goodness, they had some scrumptious bars with a nut base instead of flour. Oh they were amazing! Perfect bar to keep in a purse for that afternoon hunger strike.
And the husband is really excited for me to break out the gluten free brownie mix and make up a batch! But I’m saving that one for our anniversary! He is crazy about brownies.
Overall; ginnybakes won! I haven’t tried another gluten free dessert that even came close to the quality of flavor from ginnybakes.
TYou can find ginnybakes at Costco stores in the San Francisco Bay Area, Whole Food Market stores, and Fresh Market. They recently found their way into Stop & Shop, Giant, Martin’s, Big Y stores, and Peapod for those who live in the New York and New England region!
