We all need some fitness motivation from time to time. Something that will pull us off our couch or office desk and get moving. Now having small goals and rewards for meeting goals is fantastic. But sometimes I need something with a little more umph. I need more fitness motivation that keeps me focused daily. And then I discovered that Walgreens now has a new Balance Rewards Program! They reward you for each step you take! How is that for fitness motivation?
Walgreens Rewards offers fitness motivation
I have fallen in love with my local Walgreens! They have the best seasonal section! And their sales are amazing! Remember me talking about the Walgreens Mobile App back in February? Well I’m still in love with it! And I check it weekly for great sales! I mean these sales really save me a lot of money! Especially the buy one get one free! It helped me reach my goal of having enough laundry detergent for a year without spending a lot of money! But that is part of our Emergency Preparedness series.
Well, while I was checking out the weekly sales, I noticed a new #BalanceRewards program. It’s called Steps with Balance Rewards! And it is very cool! It is the fitness motivation I have been waiting for! I am already saving up my points on my balance rewards program. I like saving money every time I shop at Walgreens.
But now the Steps program gives me a way to earn even MORE points! And all I have to do is get off my couch, away from my computer and move! That’s it! Shoot. If someone paid you to walk, wouldn’t you do it? That is essentially what the Steps program does! They pay you to walk!! That is some fitness motivation I can get behind!
All you have to do is sign up online. It is super easy and doesn’t take very long at all. And it’s free! Within 5 minutes I had set up my own Steps balance rewards account. I Set goals. And even better, if you have one of a few pedometers, you can even set it to sync automatically! I love automatic syncing!
I already have a Fitbit One. Which I absolutely love! And in less than five minutes I had my Fitbit One Synced to my account. And it now tracks automatically for me! I don’t have to log in each day and track how many steps I took! I love that!
When I do log into the Steps balance rewards site, It is super easy to navigate. You can see how many journal entries you have logged right away. As well as the amount of Balance Rewards points you have earned just from the Steps program.
Within just a few days I had already gained 250 extra points, just for moving! Then you can log your activity if you don’t have a device that syncs automatically. You can weigh in, or track goals and progress. All of these give you points! Plus they have great resources for even more fitness motivation! You can network and have others help motivate you!
Fitness motivation takes a step further
As if all that extra points weren’t enough of a motivation. They even have daily prizes you can win just for logging in! with the Walgreens Step Up To Win Daily Sweepstakes they have new prizes every day at usually anywhere from 25-50 winners! It is really easy to enter the Walgreens Step Up to Win Daily Sweepstakes! Just log in your email and contact info in case you win and then you are brought to a fun walking/running path game. You pick a path. If all three check points match you win for that day! It’s rather random, but fun. I haven’t won yet. But I keep forgetting to play every day. But you can select to have them send you an email reminder to play each day if you like.
Shopping at Walgreens offers Fitness Motivation.
So here I’ve been moving using the fitness motivation from the Steps program. And I am starting to get some great points saved. Then I saw on my Mobile app that they have some great items for sale this week. I thought, why not use Walgreens to help me meet my goal and earn even more points!
So I went shopping at Walgreens! I found some great items to offer fitness motivation! I found a new water bottle. I’m so excited about it! It has a filter built right in! I love that. I always struggle with water drinking because I’m super sensitive to the taste of water. This helps it taste even more pure. And it even fits into the cup holder of the stroller!
They also had a lot of great healthy snack options there! From dried fruit, power bars and trail mix! But this week I had my eyes on the Pistascios! They were on sale! And a great price too! I had to pick some of those up. They really help me when I’m craving some of the nasty potato chips. A great substitute. If I can only keep the kids out of them! Ha-Ha!

Overall the Steps Balance Rewards program from Walgreens has offered me the fitness motivation I have needed to get up and get moving. I have reach my daily goals about 90% of the time. I still struggle on days when it is below 30 degrees to get outside. Yes, Sadly we still have 30 degree weather here. Even at the end of April. Sad right?
But on warmer days I can easily reach my goals. So I’m ready to make my goals even harder! And after just a few short weeks, I’ve already earned 920 rewards points, just from walking! That bumped me up enough to get $5 off my shopping trip!
