Our family has been greatly blessed with our children joining our family. But many that we know have struggled acquiring their family. Be it due to inability to have their own children, or just wanting to offer a loving home to others in need, there is a real magical bond with adoption for many of our dear friends.
Adoption and foster care has a very tender spot in the heart of the JadeLouise Designs family. Our own author Deborah has shared her own personal story of adopting their son. And that is just the top of the cake.
Wendy’s Support for Adoption
I have several friends that have personally been touched by adoption or foster care. A dear friend of mine in High school was a foster child. Many of my current friends have adopted at least 1 child. And others are in the process of adopting others.
So it truly warms our hearts when we discover a company offering such support for adoption and foster care as the Dave Thomas Foundation For Adoption associated with Wendy’s.
Now Wendy’s has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Even after the year I worked there after I graduated high school. Now that is saying something when you still like to eat at a place after working there! So yes, Wendy’s is still a favorite when it comes to fast food!
So it really makes an impact to see how Wendy’s is bringing to the forefront of people’s minds the importance of Adoption and foster care with their cups for a cause.
Did you know that Dave Thomas (the founder of Wendy’s) was adopted? And because of this he established the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in 1992. And Wendy’s has been a passionate supporter ever since.
The foundation works to find permanent, loving homes for more than 130,000 children waiting in North America’s foster care system. To date, the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program has served more than 11,500 children and has helped more than 4,500 children be adopted.
This last weekend after spending the afternoon at the park, the kids and I stopped off at Wendy’s for a fun Frosty treat. And that is when we noticed the new special artwork on the Wendy’s beverage and specialty cups!
Wendy’s is now showing the illustrations of 4 children who have been adoption through the foundation. These drawings feature the power of foster care and adoption through the child’s eyes highlighting a “family first’ moment.
You can also see more of the story by visiting Wendy’s adoption page.
It really warmed my heart to see Wendy’s not only support such a family focused cause such as adoption but to also proudly display the stories of the children that have been helped. You can see these cups for yourself when you eat at Wendy’s now through November 2015.
