When it comes to birthday parties, do you ever feel overwhelmed?
My kids don’t get fancy birthday parties very often. Usually, it’s too stressful to plan all the games, invites, food, party favors, and cleaning so the house is spotless before the brood of kids shows up. The list can go on and on for miles! There is a lot that goes into planning a birthday party.
If you are feeling overwhelmed too, I want you to stop right now.
Sure, we all want an amazing birthday party so our child knows how much we love them. So they can feel special on their very special day.
But we don’t have to run ourselves ragged, or end up in the poor house to do it!
Let’s talk balance people!
Is going to all this work draining you of valuable time you could be spending with your family? Or is the stress sucking the joy right out of the party for you?
Let me tell you, the kids won’t care if the decorations are Pinterest worthy! All they care about is the experience and being with people they enjoy. Oh and the presents too. Can’t forget the presents.
Let me give you a new option for planning a stress-free birthday party for kids!
The secret to a stress-free birthday party for kids.
This year has brought a special present to our family. Our dear family friends from college just moved to our area.
I’m talking about the “Best Friend” category of friendships. But it’s not just MY best friend. No, I’m talking about our FAMILY’S Best friends. See, the husband and my husband are best friends. The wife and I are best friends. And the kids are the same ages as our kids and they are all close friends. So it just all fits.
We have been apart for about 4-5 years now since the husband graduated college. But now they are here with us! And we couldn’t be more excited.
In that 4-5 years, we’ve missed a lot of birthday parties for both families. So I wanted to do one BIG birthday party for all the kids, so we could celebrate them all. And celebrate our families being together again.
Now, how much would you expect to spend for hosting a birthday party where all SEVEN kids are the “birthday kid” with special treatment? Now add on feeding all those kids, plus planning games, birthday party supplies, party favors, etc, etc.
If I was to host the party on my own, I’m looking at well OVER $300 to create a fun-filled party with games, prizes, food, cake and ice cream, and special treatment for all 7 kids. And that is even being frugal.
Not to mention that now I’m looking at hours worth of work, putting party favor bags together, decorating, getting food prepared, etc, etc.
Instead, this year we let Chuck E. Cheese’s do all the work for us to plan an exciting birthday party for kids.
We’ve never been to Chuck E. Cheese’s before. But my brother’s kids talk about it all the time like it’s the greatest place on the planet.
So since it is the holiday season, and I really don’t have time to plan a big elaborate birthday party, this was the perfect time to try out Chuck E. Cheese’s and see why my nieces and nephew have been gushing.
Now let me tell you if you want a place where kids of all ages can have fun, play games, eat great food, and leave you stress-free, Chuck E. Cheese’s is the place you need! There is a reason why Chuck E. Cheese’s is America’s number one place for birthdays.
I took about 10 minutes to book a party on the website. You can choose packages between Star, Superstar, and Mega Superstar! Each comes with their own perks.
But no matter which package you choose, you can kiss the stress goodbye! They do everything for you!
Each party package gives you a dedicated host for your party that will handle everything from decorating, putting together goody bags for each kid, ordering the food, clean-up, and everything in-between.
You will also get
- Game Tokens/Points for each kid (amount varies per package)
- Pizza and unlimited drink refills per child
- Customizable email invitations
- Party favors for each kid
- A Ticket Blaster Experience for the Birthday Star
All you have to worry about is just showing up with the birthday star, and sending out the email invitations!
Talk about stress-free!
And if you want a party all to yourselves you can schedule a VIP Birthday Party. If you schedule a VIP Birthday party on a Saturday or Sunday, you get the whole party area to yourself for one hour, at the earliest timeslot before the restaurant opens!
If you have more than one kid celebrating a birthday together, it is no problem at all! Since we are celebrating everyone’s birthday, I put all 7 kids down as the birthday kid. And the staff handled it perfectly!
We arrived and everything was set up on our own table spread with balloons, place settings, goody bags, and the special dress up treatment for each kid since they were all the birthday kid.
We booked the Mega Superstar package so all the kids got unlimited play time for our 2-hour party block of time. Once we got our play pass cards, the kids went off to play.
The great thing is that Chuck E. Cheese’s has games that all kids can enjoy. Every one of our kids had fun, from 13 years all the way down to 2 years old.
What really amazed all of the adults was how good the food was! We honestly weren’t expecting much in way of flavor. Eh, typical pizza right? But it was actually high quality, with a perfectly crisp crust, stretchy cheese, and finger licking good sauce.
We all said we’d totally be up for coming to Chuck E. Cheese’s again, just for the pizza.
Near the end of the party, each birthday kid got their turn in the ticket blaster for a chance to earn more tickets for prizes.
Our Jonathan totally lucked out and snagged the coveted 1000 mega ticket!
At the end, everyone took their game tickets to the prize counter, and they were all able to get something they enjoyed.
When all was said and done, can you guess how much this party cost? With all SEVEN kids being the birthday kid, unlimited play, great food, ticket blaster experience for all the kids, add on food & drinks for the adults, goodie bags, and ice cream at the end, our total was LESS THAN $250! And ya’ll that was us getting the top of the line, best of everything!
The last birthday party I threw on my own, after calculating expenses for decorations, party supplies, paper plates/napkins, utensils, food, games, party favors, cake and ice cream, I spent around $250- $300 just for 4 kids! And that took HOURS of work and stress!
We seriously got a better deal doing this group birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese’s! And no stress for me!
After we got home that night, the kids literally could not stop talking about how much fun they had at Chuck E. Cheese’s. In fact, they all said they wanted to go back to Chuck E. Cheese’s for their REAL birthday. Now that is one amazing recommendation.
It’s been a few weeks since the party, and still, the kids talk about how much fun it was. Our Jonathan is still set on having his birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese’s in January. I’m all for it because it was so easy and everyone had a blast!
So if you are looking for a great stress-free birthday party for kids, give Chuck E. Cheese’s a try.
When it comes to having a great birthday party for kids, it’s not about going fancy, or being “Pinterest worthy.” It’s the memories you are creating with them that matter the most to your kids.
