My hubs grew up in the country. Not wrestling cows or digging ditches or anything. But he would swim in the canal, move pipe on local farms, fish and duck hunt (without a dog…guess who did the retrieving!). His family had a huge garden, so he picked rocks, shucked corn and gleaned potatoes.
He rode bikes and camped under the stars. He climbed trees, jumped off roofs (into drifts of snow), and even “joined” the cross country team for a few weeks just so he could get out of class and into nature.
My guy grew up working hard and knowing how to appreciate the things around him. One of the things I love about him is that he is easing this city girl into the country life by teaching our kids to be adventurous – yet cautious! He lets them have fun, but only after the work is done.
We sweep the garage and driveway.
We take care of our chickens.
And all their poop.
We harvest our raspberries.
(And by harvest, I mean eat.)
And after the work comes the fun*!
So often that “fun” comes with a footnote: *Get dirty.
We play in the river.
You will please notice that I’m safely on the bank. Not wet. And not dirty. 😉
I’m waiting with towels in hand to wipe up river gunk and plastic bags for soggy clothes and shoes.
After picking raspberries, they end up smeared on our white shirts.
Hmm, now how did that get there?
We eat s’mores until our faces are unrecognizable.
And sometimes, that fun comes with a little bit of blood.
Like taking a turn too fast on your bike. Oops!
So much of what we love to do is (not surprisingly) done outside. So how do we battle these messes AND keep our environment?
We use Tide purclean.
This new product from Tide (a trusted name at our house!) is the first bio-based detergent. It’s made with 65% bio-based materials!
It gets better. This formula is made with 100% renewable energy AND Tide purclean is made at a zero manufacturing waste to landfill site. Which means Tide is taking care of the world that we so desperately love!
Not only is Tide purclean great on the environment, it packs a punch to those stains! See? No more raspberries.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it totally does!
Tide purclean is available at Target.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love them some Target. There was a neck-hanger coupon for $1.00 off.
And with Target’s new Cartwheel app, the savings just kept rolling in!
I had never used the Cartwheel Mobile App, but it was pretty cool.
I was able to “clip a coupon”, or offer, for 10% off Tide purclean.
At the register, I showed the cashier my phone, she scanned the coupon right off the screen! She was super helpful. Like I said, I’d never used it before, so she showed me how. 🙂 You have to click “checkout” to get the scannable coupon.
And don’t forget the Cartwheel app! Go have a peak and tell me what deals you are excited for.
