One of the best things you can do with your children is to have a family night. Just as it’s important to have routine date nights with your significant other, it is also very important that we spend quality time with our entire family. This builds a lasting family relationship, lets your children know they are important and loved. And the best way to do these family nights is by having a Family game night! This lets everyone have fun and enjoy the company of others. We have family nights weekly. But the easy dinner and games are the favorite of everyone!
Family Night Meal solutions
One of the things I have found the best is having a simple meal for our family night. This keeps mommy out of the kitchen and with the family! It offers a very simple clean up that everyone can help with and it allows for a lot more time for the family game night! This week we went to Walmart to get a simple meal solution for our Hasbro game night. We are huge fans of Hasbro games and toys, and I figured it was time to get a new game. But first, we need to get the food! A favorite for my kids is Tyson Chicken nuggets with Ore Ida French Fries! Yes please! They are so simple to cook up, easier to clean up, and my kids actually eat dinner without complaint! Yet, we can’t forget the Heinz Ketchup! My kids would never eat the Tyson Chicken Nuggets and Ore Ida French Fries without the Heinz Ketchup! So why the brand names? Well, We’ve found in our family that the Tyson Chicken Nuggets taste the best, and come out more crisp with oven baking. Plus, I love that they now feature the 100% natural chicken nuggets! Being an Idaho family, it would just be sacrilegious to get any French Fry that didn’t come from Idaho Potatoes! Sure Ore Ida is a mixture of Oregon and Idaho potatoes, but they still have Idaho potatoes in them and we support that! We have to keep our neighbors (all those potato farmers) in business! Support MY local community and buy Idaho potato products! We can use all the revenue we can get. Haha! But really that’s not the only reason why we love Ore Ida French Fries. They have a large selection of cuts, styles and flavors. I love the variety that they offer and they taste great! They make a great side to any family night dinner!
Family Night Chicken and potato burrito recipe
Now you’ve probably heard that Idahoans are a little crazy over our potatoes and you would be right. I love Idaho potatoes. And it’s true we’ve come up with some fun potato concoctions. One of my favorites is a chicken and potato burrito! There are lots of ways to make this, but for this family game night we are doing it the super easy way! The first step is to ensure you have all your ingredients gathered so it makes the process go faster.
You will want to cook up the Tyson Chicken Nuggets according to directions. We prefer the oven method with those. For the Ore Ida fries, most the time we cook those in the oven too, but tonight is special. I pulled the Deep Fryer out just for tonight. It usually makes the potatoes crisper on the outside yet still soft on the inside which is perfect for the chicken and potato burrito. Now you will want to prepare the Tortilla with some shredded cheese. Place the Chicken nuggets into the center of the tortilla with a few Ore Ida French Fries on the sides. Warm this in the microwave for about 15 seconds. We want the cheese warmed to almost melted stage. The next step is to embellish with the sour cream, salsa, and the optional lettuce and black olives. Basically anything else you would normally put onto a burrito that you enjoy. Wrap, eat and enjoy! Now the kids aren’t fans of burritos in any way, so for them they usually just have the chicken nuggets and fries as finger foods with the Heinz Ketchup for a dipping sauce. That’s great for them, but for this Mama, I want something a little nicer. So I really enjoy the chicken and potato burrito. But any way you create your meal solutions for family night, you are going to end up with happy kids!

Now you are entered into the sweepstakes and you’ve unlocked a new game to play online! How cool is that!? We were going to play the online game with the kids last night, but we ran out of time after playing our new Hasbro board game! Part of our purpose of our Walmart shopping trip was to pick up a new game for our family night. Since Hasbro is a brand we know and love, we thought it would be fun to get a new Hasbro game. There were a lot more to choose from than I remember. You can see all the cool things I found from our Google+ Shopping Album. But what I settled on was the new Electronic Monopoly! I have heard that it goes a lot faster than regular monopoly which is always a great thing. I really like Monopoly but no one will ever play with me because it takes so long to play! Well this version definitely speeds things up, and it also features some game variations to help the game go even faster! They have updated the game quite a bit from the last time I’ve played. The pieces and cards all reflect the update in our society culture. No more horse and buggy, now we have airplanes, speed cars and cell phone player pieces! Dance lessons with a celebrity coach? Yeah, that’s not something you would have seen in the older versions. It was a lot of fun to see the new differences. But my favorite change was definitely the electronic money feature! It was easy to use, fast, and definitely kept the game rolling! No more trying to count out money for buying properties. And when you have little kids that aren’t that great at math, this is a MUST! Plus when you have really little ones, the lack of all that paper money is a lot less that you have to try to keep out of a baby’s reach! I love it! The boys both had so much fun! We were laughing all night long, and completely lost track of time! The best part is that this version is great if you need to take a break. J. had scouts this night, so we just paused the game and the electronic money machine stored our money count, so it was really easy to come back when he got home to finish. We ended up playing for an extra two hours past their normal bed time because we were having so much fun. T. was completely wiping the floor with me and J. My 7 year old had so much money and houses! In the last 20 minutes of the night, things turned around for me and I ended up winning by a very small margin. Man, I almost lost to a 7 year old! lol. But it was a lot of fun and we all agreed we need to play this again as soon as The Husband gets home for his visit from his internship. And we will be taking it to the Grandparent’s house this weekend for a Hasbro game night with the extended family too!
